    I should probably have mentioned this initially when I joined this site and posted in this introduction section, but I suppose it's not a given on these forums.

    If I criticize your writing, academic or otherwise, I will be blunt and possibly harsh. This is not because I look down on anyone; rather, I believe that the most efficient way to improve writing ability is to be given concise criticisms that do not dance around issues.

    As I have received rather impolite PM's about this issue, I will address it here, too:

    If you are rude to another poster, then do not expect me to be nice to you. There is no reason to call someone's effort crap or anything along those lines. If you are respectful to other posters and their works, then I will be respectful to you. Otherwise, do not expect me to treat you with anything resembling kindness. I'm straightforward like that.
