Another interesting Lawrence related book is "D.H.Lawrence Fifty Years on Film"....provided you are interesting in film adapations of his work. I own a number of them and enjoy watching them very much. I just got a rare one adapted for BBC TV - "Boy in the Bush"...it stars a very young Kenneth Branagh playing the main character of Jack. It's quite good and close to the novel, which I read not long ago; but it's nearly impossible to come by the film. A dear friend sent me a copy from the UK. Kenneth Branagh has also appeared in another film depicting Lawrence in his early years at the time he meet his wife - "Coming Through". You can check both out on Youtube. Be sure and check out Ken B's recitation of Lawrence's poem "Violets"....incredible and impectably done! I was able to download that audio from a site online, but it also can be seen on Youtube - part of "Coming Through" videos.

That is great too that you told the chair of the Mansfield Society about this forum. We need serious posters like you. Lately the forum is loaded with lots of games and such but the serious discussions on literature are wanting a bit right now. I must start a new Lawrence short story discussion soon. In the meantime I have posted some interesting things such as photos in the thread to keep it active. You might want to check those out.

looks interesting. I need to read more Mansfield knowing how close she was to Lawrence. I hope I can direct you to some film, which might engross your students; get them interested in Lawrence.

Thank you for befriending me; happy to put you on my list of friends. I don't know a real live author, so I find it quite fascinating; not to mention that your work is connected with my favorite author and focus of study. I have read all L's novels I believe and now all his short stories. I have more to read, of course. L was such a prolithic author - amazing when you think how ill he was all his life.

LLItaly, I just found your message in here. What one really does is post the message in the other person's profile page - this is a common mistake with newcomers. I did it myself wrong when they added these profile pages a year or so ago. A number will appear in bold below your name at the top indicating there is a message or more in your profile page.
Anyway, I did very much enjoy your reading. In fact, I was busy doing stuff in the house so I listened to it a few times, letting it sink in. I will probably listen it again. I like audiobooks. Dear Janine - thank you for your message. i just found it actually - I don't usually participate in forums, so I don't know all the ins and outs, and how things work --I just figured out how to read visitor messages today and also befriended you. Thank you also for looking up my books and listening to my podcast. I am glad you enjoyed the podcast and thank you for you kind words. Yes The Etruscan has quite a few lawrentian echoes -- And KM is a fascinating writer. I was surprised there is no Mansfield section in the Lit forum - and I have just pointed this out to the deputy chair of the newly formed Katherine Mansfield Society - I think someone from there will probably start a section on Mansfield in the forum - which might be fun too. Good luck with your home construction! I sympathize.

Hi, I am listening to the postcast now on your Etruscan's novel. Thanks for pointing the two books out to me. I put them into my wishlist for now. I think I would be most interested in the second one on Katherine Mansfield. I am impressed with your writing very much; beautiful and expressive; I see some Lawrence influence here. You have a wonderful voice too and narrate well. I don't have time to dedicate now fully to your two posts today; but will try to get to them later on this evening or tomorrow. I have a full day of work in front of me; because we are having some home construction done soon. I have to figure out where to put all my books, and other stuff temporarily.
