I've been writing a lot of poetry recently as a way to deal with things that I can't wrap my head around. I enjoy it greatly as a therapeutic tool. They aren't particularly good but I thought I'd share a few that I like. Cheers.
Your Smile Makes Me Sick
A touch,
A smile,
you cast the iron.
Hot it burns the flesh.
Scissors slide
through angel’s skin.
Don’t wear it as your own.
Flow freely
Gravity grows
heavy
as your passage
forms to words.
A dream surreal
deep within
won’t allow
awake.
Eyes so bright with boyish
purpose
seem empty as
the gates.
A faceless stranger
delivered
on life’s first
promise made.
A reminder of the deal
we struck
forgetful as we
wait.
Why does no one spill
a drop
his
When you tore your eyes away
my worlds became asunder.
My friends dull and blur their faces
muddy water.
Within those depths I lost
my kingdom.
Mirror with no reflection.
Your interest was
consumed by life,
then death
it came ensemble.
First died
a hero smiling

his birth.
Excitement rushed
to meet it’s end
