    yeah totally...I love TS Elliots poems, even when I don't quite understand them...they just sound nice :P I have a question...what does "Odi et amo" mean? Is it latin...or something else?

    Orwell made the comment in essays that all of his writing since Animal Farm was designed to warn against the dangers of totalitarianism. It looks like quite prophetic, but I don't believe Orwell really thought it would come to pass. The main reason seemed to be that his own politics - democratic socialism - is the antithesis of totalitarianism and he wrote in one form to promote the alternative. You could say it worked to some degree as most western governments are tending more towards socialism than totalitarianism. Obama's a great example of a man Orwell would have admired greatly - in my opinion.

    And TS Elliot...well hes a favorite peot of mine I love "the Waste Land". Frost too, as I mentioned.
