    Hi... thanks for voting in the 2015 Annual Short Story Competition finals.
    I submitted one of my stories "Happy Endings" into the contest.

    Critiques here on litnet have always been greatly helpful and helped me improve a lot. As you have already read the story, I was wondering if you could share your thoughts on the story on this thread->

    Hey Tailor,

    Sorry for the delayed reply; hope you are great.

    My own thoughts on publishing are similar. . I would like to pick out the best and put them on Kindle. My brother also does artwork so I will see if he can illustrate it.

    I hope your book is a success, whenever you do publish it.

    Ah, that's great! I haven't been writing for a week or so.. Yes, all is very well with me, thank you for the kind words.
    Do you only write poetry? I pretty much do.
    And have you ever thought about publishing? A little while back I learned that, it seems anyway, it's very easy to do so for Kindle on Amazon.

Looking Forward by Looking Back

A little something for our Thursday at Two Poetry group today, a week after a week's postponement due to the Mosquito Fire threatening our foothill communities... at least it gave me something to write about... lol ?

Our challenge was something in the form:
aaa bbb ccc ddd... so, tercets with a rhyme scheme, or some such. Hope I got it right:

Well... getting ready to evacuate due to the Mosquito Fire here in the Gold Country. Large smoke plumes very visible and our neighboring town of Georgetown, CA is already under evacuation orders... we're about 5 miles as the crow flies away, but fires up here move with tremendous speed in our drought stricken, heat wave infested area - up to 20 miles a day in a worst case scenario..

We haven't received an advisory here yet, but getting prepared.

Luckily my wife is

let magic begin

let magic begin

let magic begin -
lithe woodrushes snuggle ferns
hermit thrush song thrills

O, how light the heart
deadpan deer alertly pose
gentle crisp winds blow

the buck moon shone bright
sharp languid shadows answered
filtered through stark trees

night advanced slowly
a weather worn stone observes
the cold universe

blazing silently
stars seek our vision

Poetry on the Divide

by tailor STATELY on 04-24-2022 at 03:24 AM

In honor of Earth Day we had a poetry reading for the community. Very sparse turnout but it was my first time in front of a microphone reciting poetry outdoors - so all good... the only butterflies were the ones flitting about in the abundant sunshine just before noon. We had three poets from our little group, including myself, and one from a sister group from a community across the South Fork of the American River.

Afterwards we poets journeyed down the hill from the amphitheater

Stream of Consciousness

stream of conssien... consciousness (correct typo)

(wait that should be on Alexa... adjusting
bluetooth settings) binaural beats belt out
on Alexa... buffer... binaural beats belt out on
Alexa now hunting and pecking on wireless keyboard
(correct typo) since laptop doesn't have 10-key
on it so alt-keys are out of the question... man,
this keyboard has keys that are sticking...
