I agree about the movie Les Miserables. I love Liam Neeson...he's been a favorite clear back to The Bounty. He was in two of the Darkman films...not sure if you've heard of those. Have you seen Taken? I've wanted to, but the opportunity hasn't risen. ...I got distracted on Liam...sorry... I wanted to say that in spite of the movie, I still enjoyed it, but there are many other versions, at least two of them in English, not to mention several television broadcasts. But the book is a classic...I've been wanting to read it again...it's not one that you just read over the summer...not unless your job is reading books...and you're not married...no kids...no life... Maybe we can break it down the book using the version found on LitNet...that's how I found this site in the first place.

That would be a good discussion topic...unfortunately it's been long enough ago for me that the details are foggy...What was it...a scorpion and a grasshopper? I thought that ALW (Andrew Lloyd Webber) missed a great character by excluding the Persian, but on the other hand, I don't think that he could have done justice to developing him.

Have you read Gaston Leroux's The Phantom of the Opera?

No, I am never going short again with my hair. I just hope that when I get back to a stylist, they will trim it right and give me the bangs that I want! I am going to put it off for a bit, though, because I need to get headshots, and I want to have a nice, fresh hairstyle for them.

That's good, but it is raining here, too, and amazingly my sinuses aren't bothering me either. Odd, but I suppose I shouldn't question it, right? Usually my whole body aches from rain, but I am OK. Except my throat is bothering me today (too long of a story to get into - I just hope it gets better before the week is through).

That sounds a little worrisome - the acid reflux. So I don't blame you for worrying about it happening again. I really hope it doesn't. That just does not sound too good at all.

I only sang "Unexpected Song" once. I LOVE that song, but I don't know why I haven't tried it again. Lately I have been on a Sondheim kick. Do you like his music? My songs of choice are "Losing My Mind", "Loving You", "Comedy Tonight" and "Being Alive". I tried "Children Will Listen" a couple of times, but I avoid that at all costs. It is really hard for me, and I can't figure out why. I enjoy "Comedy Tonight" alot, and I LOVE to sing "Being Alive". I like to belt out evey now and then.

So you won't have any time in Vegas for fun? That would be too bad. I have been trying to get somebody to go with me for a couple of years now (I just don't want to go alone). But either A) people have been there and don't care to go back right now, if ever, or B) they have no interest in going at all. I wrote a blog entry listing my goals for my 30's, and getting to Vegas was one of them. I have a feeling that isn't going to happen.

I love baseball!! It is crazy because it is like everyone I know has NO interest in doing anything I want to do. There is noone that wants to go to a game. I could go alone, but where is the fun in that? Of course, I suppose it is a lot better going alone than going with someone that has no interest in it! I haven't been to a game since '07. So, I am desperate to get to one this year.

I have probably seen every version of "Wuthering Heights" EXCEPT that one! Netflix finally got it in their library. So I plan to see it soon. I think Timothy Dalton fits the "dark" character so well. I am so in love with him as Rochester. Have you ever seen that version of "Jane Eyre" with him?

Did you watch "Phantom" again? I think I will watch "Flesh and the Devil" tonight. I was going to watch it last night, but I was just too exhausted last night. Have you ever seen it?

Well, there is nothing wrong with going to the buffet on Easter. The thought of going to a Chinese one just reminds me of "A Christmas Story". Do you know what I am talking about? Have you seen that movie? Well, my mother recently got sick, so since this has happened, holidays haven't been as traditional. I made some small dinners for us (me, my mother and a brother), but that has been it. I come from a fairly big family, but everyone has pretty much done something else instead of having my mother cook. I refuse to cook for all of those people who won't appreciate it, anyway. It is enough work for the 3 of us when I do it. But it was a good day, thanks. nothing special, but that is fine with me.

I knew you would love that movie. Yes, and to think you hoarded it away all this time...shame on you. His performance is brilliant! The woman who played Kathy played in Lawrence Olivia's "King Lear"; ever see the film? It's set like a play, but very intense with amazing performances. The set is Stonehenge; very austere and cool, other worldly, mystical. One has to be up for it though; it's a very depressing play in my opinion; but incredible. She was very good as the rejected daughter. I have the KB audiobook version; KB plays the fool. I was listening to it on headphones one night, drifted off to sleep and abruptly woke up, with men angrily yelling at each other. I was in-shock and actually didn't know where I was for a minute; I won't do that again. It was so totally frightening. Not a good play either to watch before bedtime. You will have bad dreams.
Actually, I think the scenery in that film was even bleaker than in "Return of the Native". The scenery in that is varied and the moors in Exmoor are incredible and so ancient too. I just looked it up on Wiki and other sites and the photos are wonderful. I would love to visit that area of England. The south western parts are indeed Hardy country. A friend of mine went there to retrace Hardy's footsteps and he raved about it. He loved that trip and is a huge Hardy enthusiast. He longs to go back again. Yes, not stay but visit would be incredible.

MissScarlett, I wrote you one PM, but have to clear out my PM box; it's nearly full again; before I write the next one. Anyway, you need a breather between. I wrote a reply to your first and second PM's. I am anxious to write to the next one - different subject but important.

Quess what I watched last night? I didn't watch 'Much Ado', instead I felt compelled to watch "Return of the Native" again. I hope you like it, when you get the film. I think the scenery is magnificent - so austere and so different than any place you would have seen or been before. The way they film these magnificent vistas of lands is breath-taking. I want to go there now; the credits say somewhere in England - think it was Exmoor; I will try looking it up.

    Edit:Indeed it is Exmoor - look here - http://www.exmoor-nationalpark.gov.u...x/visiting.htm

The film looked great on the little pink
Sony. I did enjoy it, although it does depart in some places a bit from the original Hardy novel. I think I read the novel first, and it's not one of Hardy's easiest to get into; but it's worth the effort in the end. The plot seemed a little more intricate in the book; well, of course, books are always the better of the two, but this adapation is pretty darn good and it's amazingly gorgeous scenery...awesome in it's rural aspects and naturalism. I loved it!

hey i really want to watch a movie i haven't seen before, cause I find i tend to watch the same movies all the time over and over. Can you suggest a couple for me you think I'd like?

Yes, indeed. I didn't get to see Quebec City until I'd already lived in Montreal for many years, and visiting Quebec was like an inexpensive trip to Europe!
