On a happy note I had a wonderful two hours with my granddaughter who loved coming to visit. She played the piano, colored and played sticker books and danced for me; she is so cute at two, talking quite well at times. I love her so very much - too great to even tell you. She is darling and so much fun to be with. I guess grandmas and granddaughters naturally have that special bond. I know we do. I am truly blessed. I took some movies of her playing the piano; she has loved it since she was 10 months! I think we might have a prodigy on our hands...

Well, today she seems some better and my granddaughter came with my son to visit by surprise, so that put us both in a great mood. My mother is stuborn but she did do as I adviced and she took more of the Tylenol Arthristis medication she has on hand. Now the sciatic pain has let up so I think resting and the meds made the difference. She still needs to see a dr but our family physican now does house calls so I will call him tomorrow.

S, thank you for being so understanding. I am very overwhelmed about various things that need to be attended to in real life. I didn't realise when I posted the story things would get worse. I thought things had improved but now some haven't. I am working methodically on straightening out some of those things. It's too much to go into and let's just say my life is a bit complicated, too much so for my own good.

Things aren't looking good here today. My mother had problems walking last night. I think she has sciatica the way she describes her symptoms. She is not good on her feet and so it's another complication. She may go to the hospital and if so I will end up there. At anyrate carry on without me for now. I have been enjoying reading yours and Virgil's debates on the both add so much and have keen observations. Keep up the good work.

Any plans, yourself, for the weekend? I hope it's a good one for you. I won't be able to post in the L thread until tonight. Sorry I have been such a slowpoke. I will catch up eventually.

I am not feeling fine for some reason - too many loose ends and financial things which are seemingly impossible to resolve at the moment. Also, have to find out more about my sister, there are some issues I need to talk with her landlady about. I must call her soon. I also have to head to the bank and get a print out of my statement for another matter.
Life's little annoying things...nothing monumental at this time but annoying. I hope my son calls and wants me to babysit on the weekend; tues though I do go up near his house for a dr appointment and hope I can see Brooke that evening. I have several presents for her including an adorable little dress I bought her last night. I have been missing her extremely since it's been weeks since I saw her last. I did attempt to talk to her on the phone and she talked a bit but babies don't quite get the concept. Still she sounded so cute and so adorable.

The last of the set is virtually impossible to get, or way too inflated in price due to rariety - "The Dying Game". I would love to read it someday but I will have to find it at a library or some other way. I have not yet read the first two in the set but I did start the first one "The Early Years" and it's very detailed. It will take me forever to finish all of these, along with the other extraneous L material I have collected. It will have to be a lifetime pursuit. I have a feeling you may follow in my footsteps. I may have to will all my Lawrence books to you. I don't know of anyone else who would want all of them or appreciate them.

I must send you the YT links to the L poems and also to the Owen's poems. In some ways they all seem to interweave, know what I mean?

Hi Sapphire, you sound just like me: the eternal bargain hunter! I am not sure how much 4 eros is, but it sounds like a real bargain. Good for you! I love getting books onsale or even second hand. I have bought a lot from Amazon. I love books with a lot of notes, as well. You can learn a lot from those. Now I know who to consult to find out the meaning of those dialect words. So, you have never read "Sons and Lovers"? If not, you will love it; it's autobiographical and will explain so much to you about Lawrence. I have read several actual biographies of the is "The Intelligent Heart" by Harry T. Moore (that is an older one). Another I enjoyed very much was The Story of a Marriage" by Maddox; even though critics say she exaggerated some points; I still think it's a good insight and intimate look into L's life with his wife. I also own 2 of the Cambridge set of recent biographies.....

Sapphire, I wasn't feeling at all well today; spend the evening in bed and now I have a strange rash on my neck area/upper chest. My arm is also itching me. I wonder if I am allergic to something.

At anyrate, I just wanted to let you know that I did post the next portion of the text. Sorry I have been so vacant there. I had a lot going on which I didn't expect at the time I posted the story. Hopefully this week will ease up and if I am feeling better tomorrow I will try to post some comments. Until then I am sure you will fill in fine and write another small novel. I love to read your take on the write ahead. I will be reading it!

Thank you Sapphire. I'm not sure if I mentioned it. But last weekend was the time we were expecting to travel back to Kazakhstan to pick up Matthew. Unfortunately the coordinator there is away until August 23rd. He needs to complete some final things before we can take Matthew. So we have to wait another two weeks. I was really angry when I heard, but there is nothing we can do. Thanks for thinking of us. Hopefully another week and a bit fro mthis point.

I need to appologise to you and others in the L thread. I haven't had time to participate lately. I am afraid that carries over to tomorrow - going to babysit Brooke and monday someone is coming from the electric company to evaluate our house energy efficiency. I am booked up for the next few days. I will try to read the story text I posted tonight but today I have a lot of cleaning to do, so I can't promise anything. Anyway, you and Virgil seem to be doing a good enough job without me. I will try to address those questions you and Virgil thought I might know the answer to later tonight, if I can stay awake. I think I have some ideas of what L is getting at.
