Hey I'm trying to get people to vote for the Autumn Poetry Contest. Such a sparse turnout. Please see if you can peruse the poems and vote for one.

As you can tell I am quite busy. Sorry for the delay. I can't wait until I get some down time in my schedule.

MAN! I had no idea I wouldn't be able to get to a computer for so long, but it feels good to be back. How are you doing?

Hi Sophia, that message indicates the site is down. When it was taken down before to remove my poems, the same message was used and Burst told me it was down. I had your same fear at first that I was blocked and could never verify if anything had been fixed. I'm 99% sure this is the case. We should know in a few days at the longest.

I won't give up at this point until all the stolen stuff is gone. I'm not a good person to ever pick a fight with. If I am right, I always win.

I only concede to my wife b/c she can kick my *** good.

Well you can't have light without dark, eh? Funny, those women surrealists came up recently on my Holland trip too. These things always come in twos.

hi Sophia, I just wanted to thank you on the commentary you left. Im glad you were able to see the overall meaning. The wholeness of even self dissonance. I think sometimes poetry helps me realize mixed emotions and come to terms with myself, as i need to do sometimes being young. I love your paintings, they are truly beautiful. Your art is in of itself an admiralty of art - music. Also, the realness of your portraiture is compelling.

I am off to vacation for a little while, this time closer to home. Just thought I should let you know before I just suddenly disappear.

be still my love - my life
the shadow nears (its
lightning arsenal firing)
why does it hunt you
why does it cry

as though its lucent sorrow could fall
into your dusky arms the way I do
one tender moment of each day
sand bound to stone

why does the scarred face of
this crumbling low not unnerve

Alexandre Dumas fils

by ~Sophia~ on 12-01-2009 at 06:00 PM
I thought this being a lit forum, some might be interested in seeing Alexander Dumas' grave site. I spent the entire afternoon at the CimetiŤre de Montmartre. There are several painters including Edar Degas, writers and poets buried there but, Alexandre Dumas fils (son) is I would guess the most famous of them...

I'm Here - In PARIS!!!

by ~Sophia~ on 11-29-2009 at 04:06 PM
Arrived Saturday morning and, it's everything I've ever hoped or dreamed and more. I'm attaching some of the photos I've taken so far.

I am living in the 18th Arrondissement know as Montmartre. Many famous classic artists lived in this section of town or had art studios here. Though I haven't yet had time to write a poem, one is brewing! Adieu mon amis!

ps: There are more than 100 photos (in 1.5 days LOL) on my facebook. If you are interested you can see them

When The Hurricanes Return

When The Hurricanes Return

it must have been because
(not when)
the birds and my eyes fell from the sky

that I needed something to hold and
rode at dusk on Encuentro beach

sorrel tarantula running down
the cricketís evensong

past girls with legs like herons basking
past boys with plantains in their hands

My Poems About Haiti and the D.R.

It Only Means

by ~Sophia~ on 04-23-2009 at 08:01 PM
Iíve been to the cloud forest where wind trees
wink silver and pale magnolias dissolve

loose petals on a white capped sea.

Where I stepped out of a beach towel and
thirty nine notes of Chopinís raindrops hit the shore

I put my right foot in - I put my right foot out

but, Iím afraid of the armís length centipede
behind the dresser. Wiki says it lays eggs.
Now I canít sleep -

hard - like the
