yes, I do have a lot of longing in my voice and I am currently in a bad mood not knowing when I will get to see her; they are predicting more snow on the weekend. I haven't seen her since Christmas day...too long for me. We don't live far in geographic miles; but the whole way there is crowded with heavy traffic most of the time; and it's especially so when she would be available to see. The other grandmother lives just 5 minutes away so she sees her often. I admit I am bit jealous at times. They would never have me stay the week to watch her. She is required to go to the daycare for 4 days at least; the other grandmother you referred to is a lucky woman.

I'm fine thanks. Well first of all you have to create an album, click on User CP on the top of your page menu bar then select Pictures & Albums from the left hand menu. Click on Add album and start uploading your pictures and have fun.

Thanks for the request. I'm glad we are friends now.

Thanks for the friend-request, I'm honored.

About family - I haven't told mine I'm blogging about them. I try to keep things light and avoid providing too much background information. But they are so very important to me, I just can't not blog about them.

I am so blessed to have her. I just wish I lived closer because these darling baby moments go by so quickly. I am sort of jealous of her other grandmother who lives not 5 minutes away and watches her one day a week. If I lived closer I would do the same so it hurts me that I can't. I miss her so badly right now. I was so disappointed I didn't see her Saturday night...I had been counting down the days. Now I think it will be quite awhile before I do see her again...they are predicting another snowstorm on Saturday night. I think it's suppose to start on Friday.

When I first say this photo I didn't realise what she was up to. Then when I realised she was sharing the snow with her friends from the book, I really thought it was simply 'adorable'....that is definitely the right word.

    Hi
How are you doing? I liked your profile picture, its very artistic.

part 3...By the way, I love mermaid photos. I used to have one for my profile picture - a painting by Howard Pyle.

part 2...ok, I am liking the colors...they seem to work with the painting. I think the purple is still too intense though. It's starting to work. Did you try putting a photo into that first section...that is where I ran into trouble - it just won't take it.

Oh glad you noticed the photo change. I got such a kick out of that one - she is showing her Sesame St friends in her book the snow outside. Even from the back I think she looks so little and cute. It is so reminescent of when I was a little kid looking out at the snowfall.

Yes, how true, us girls do need a change once in awhile. I need to redo my colors, too...maybe I will record what I have there now and then start from scratch. It might then take the background photos.

Did I say iPod? I meant the itunes store - I have been trying to send a gift certificate to my daughter-in-law for a few days now. I can't get it to go through. My credit card information is in there but it just won't go through. It keeps asking me for same information over and over again. I buy on Amazon and have never had a glitch. I have no idea why this keeps happening...very frustrating. My daughter-in-law just got an iPod nano for Christmas. I got one too but so far I am able to synch it and it's working fine. I haven't put any videos into it, although I would like to try that. I have shot some experimental video - it has a video camera built in. The pictures are surprisingly clear.
I also set the clocks so I can tell what time it is all around the world and key locations where I have friends.

see part 2.....I will check out your colors first....

So you know how sons can be. I get very annoyed at him sometimes. I told him he was being just plain rude and he finally hung up on me. I know he is pressured with work and don't think he was happy worrying about his wife that night...sometimes more is there than meets the eye. However he really didn't have to be so mean to me.

Glad you liked my ideas. I am not sure I was much help. You should put your Bugs Bunny photo back until we get this formating straightened out with the moderators. Something in the program is just not working as it did before. I tried the itunes program again last night and can't get my order to go through. I haven't the faintest idea what why either. I put the right information in and it keeps telling me I have to re-enter it and the things is I even tried to use two separate credit cards...both major ones. I never had a problem buying online before so this has me miffed.

Darn it. This is the same problem I have been having. Maybe you should ask a moderator, too. Something fishy is going on with the formating program. I don't see anything but blue in your background. I was just trying again to place a gift card order for my daughter-in-law in itunes and it also failed...keeps getting me in a loop. I don't have the faintest idea why it's doing so. I am already a week late for her birthday. I told her I was giving her the GC for the music; now I can't accomplish it. I am quite frustrated tonight with computer programs!

Heretic, rebel, a thing to flout

by qimissung on 12-15-2012 at 02:13 AM
I live in the United States of America, and we had another school shooting today. With horror I listened to the news reports that a gunman had gone into an elementary school and killed 27 people, 20 of them “children between the ages of 5 and 10.” And I listened tiredly and wearily to the usual rhetoric of the newscast without end as they recounted the “worst school shooting in an elementary school.”
I guess they are doing the best they can, but you simply can’t put a qualifier or adjective

In Memoriam

by qimissung on 04-03-2012 at 11:05 PM
One of my former students-he graduated last year-was shot and killed last night around 10 o'clock.

He had just finished playing a game of basketball and was sitting in a car on a dark street, with his cousin. They were waiting for his cousin's ride when another car drove up. It was someone they knew and they argued over a girl his cousin had been seeing. The young man in the car pulled out a gun and shot them. Victor was shot two times in the back. He was treated at a nearby hospital,

The Anger and The Anguish

by qimissung on 01-04-2012 at 02:24 PM
I read several good books in 2011. I read "Candide," "The Crying of Lot 49", "Housekeeping," "A Heartbreaking Work of Staggering Genius," and "The Dubliners." I read others, but these I read last fall and today it is of "The Dubliners" I speak.

I've been wanting to read something by Joyce. Eventually I hope to read "Ulysses." I think that might be akin to saying that someday I'd like to climb Mount Everest, for

The Bird's Nest

by qimissung on 12-27-2011 at 03:20 PM
looking at it I knew it was different
a bird's nest
full of hope and fear
and the cavalier fulsomeness of life
the blind ability to get up each day under the weight of it all
to go out every day believing you were one of the masses
dressed in the same uniform
believing the same things
that god is good
that love will find a way
believing or hoping to believe that
the others would not notice your vampiric differences

I acquire some books

by qimissung on 12-04-2011 at 08:13 PM
I got up yesterday morning, a Saturday, around 5:45. I washed my face and dressed and walked to my car in the dark. I stopped by my local Starbucks and treated myself to a tall mocha.

I then made my way down Midway to 635; from there to Central Expressway from which I exited at Northwest Highway. My destination was the Half-Price Books located there, or rather the warehouse that I knew was located near it.

Once I arrived I noticed, somewhat to my chagrin, that there
