i see.. i read that "something wicked this way comes" in a day and was like, meh. but in the end that's exactly what it is about: like you said: "the power to create change rests in their hands".

well, im almost half through history of sexuality(3), i already read the other ones and found them very easy to grasp, this one isnt different. in this volume i see that he's analising greek texts regarding the construction of character, and as you read you cant help but think "yes, i do know this. ive thought this before, but you are saying it in a very eloquent and organised manner", you know? foucault is just admirable in every way, i wish i can someday be able to voice my mind in such fluid manner..

i finished it yesterday, that ending kind of confused me a little.. i dont know. it didnt make sense to me how the tao revealed to abendsen that theyre living in a false reality and why is it false if its happening.. i mean.. it says that the true reality is that one he wrote in the book, but is it the true one if its not happening to them? "let's go on with our horrible lives because it isnt true anyways" ?

well.. im not sure. i think that it shows how phillip k dick really thinks the world is a better place because the US won wwII. im not saying what i think is that the nazi germany and japan would have transformed a world into a paradise on earth in case they won the war, it would probably be something pretty similar to what is written in the book, but you can see the terror that possibility reflects in the writter's mind.
besides, it's pretty scary to realize how our lives are often based in a serial of decisions that have key importance in the whole settling of our tangible reality, heh? one little mistake and everything is ****ed forever.
