Oh, I also gave your book titles and name to our best-selling bookstore, who like to be on top of 'whats new'... so here's hoping!

Peter, I have not, as yet, read your books. I have put in a suggestion to our Library, to obtain them. They have yet to let me know the status.
I do not order stuff online, books, clothes, etc., so I am at the mercy of the library. If they do not come through, then I can try our local bookstore to place an order. I would very much like to read these two books for sure.
Don't know what is new in Sask-a-bush (lol, slang for Saskatchewan). But here in Manitoba we are in the midst of a beautiful autumn...

Water Works

by PeterL on 07-14-2019 at 02:50 PM
Humans have been accused of having damaged the Earth in some ways, but the major alterations that humans have made to the Earth have been largely ignored, while trouble and noise has been put into climate, which is a perfectly natural thing, and while it is normal and natural for rivers to change courses, it isnít natural for them to run on the high ground while a lower course is immediately available.

People have been altering rivers to suit them for more than six thousand years.

Nomenclature of Political Parties

by PeterL on 07-10-2019 at 11:07 AM
For some reason I started thinking about the Guelphs and Ghibellines, Tories, Know Nothings, Northern Leagues, and various other names that political parties have chosen. While some of the names were intended to show what the party was about, the stance of the party on issues and political preferences tend to evolve over time; thus the name might cease to be appropriate. And some of the names are just words that were applied to a political group.

Perhaps the most interesting terms

Empty Barrels

Empty Barrels Make the Most Noise.

For something else that I am writing, I have been thinking about evolution of humans. It is somewhat surprising that intelligence didnít increase in similar amounts to all people during evolution, but has been noted that there is considerable breadth in the range of "normal intelligence".

This came to mind in regard to drunks, bums, petty criminals, the mentally ill, and the underclass, those who are outside the economy

Trump's Depression

by PeterL on 06-09-2019 at 01:52 PM
I was thinking about how the U.S. economy would go from the upswing that Trump takes credit for to the Even Greater Depression that his trade war will bring on.

Trump should be separated from the claims of strong economy, and he could be thrown out of office and not have a chance of re-election, and he may have undone himself with the additional tariffs. I wasn't expecting the stock market to tank for a considerable time, as it happened during the 1920's. I'm not the only one who

Minding Business

by PeterL on 05-25-2019 at 02:06 PM
I sometimes find myself wondering why someone isnít minding his or her own business. And I usually to do that, but The Valley Advocate got me to do otherwise. This preference hasnít shown up in my blog often, but blogs are for people to vent their opinions. The Feature Article in the paper was about physician assisted suicide, which is an excellent example of people taking responsibility for themselves. Then when I opened the paper the first heading I saw was an opinion piece about ďhealthy food
