Oh, I also gave your book titles and name to our best-selling bookstore, who like to be on top of 'whats new'... so here's hoping!

Peter, I have not, as yet, read your books. I have put in a suggestion to our Library, to obtain them. They have yet to let me know the status.
I do not order stuff online, books, clothes, etc., so I am at the mercy of the library. If they do not come through, then I can try our local bookstore to place an order. I would very much like to read these two books for sure.
Don't know what is new in Sask-a-bush (lol, slang for Saskatchewan). But here in Manitoba we are in the midst of a beautiful autumn...

Time Is Money

by PeterL on 06-13-2018 at 06:22 PM
Origins of the adage "time is money":
"The first cite is a version from Classical Greece "the most costly outlay is
time" attributed to Antiphon. The second cite is from 1572 Discourse
upon Usury, "They saye tyme is precious."" http://listserv.linguistlist.org/pip...ch/097859.html

Hunting Witches

by PeterL on 06-06-2018 at 05:43 PM
I have never been on a witch hunt, per se, but those arenít as popular as they used to be. But considering what nice people most witches are maybe I should hunt some up. Hearing news about Robert Mueller conducting a witch hunt got me thinking about such things again.

Hunting witches was never an especially popular sport in the U.S. or in the region that became the U.S. The Salem witch trials and executions were the biggest such event. If we want to find information about hunting

Artificial Scents

by PeterL on 05-31-2018 at 09:25 AM
The world already stinks more than enough, so why add to the stench?

Most animals use scent to signal others of their species and sometimes animals of other species, and humans are some of the animals that use scent. There are specific meanings in many scents, and being about to detect the scent can be important. Few, if any, animals other than humans disguise their natural scents.

Humans are a little different, and it has become increasingly popular for humans to

Straightening Out Migration

by PeterL on 05-22-2018 at 04:01 PM
I find it somewhat amusing that people are still making noise about people trying to immigrate to the U.S. without noticing that most of the immigrants are more interested in leaving their present location and situation, and they just want to live in a less unpleasant place. Whether they are fleeing economic problems, bad government, dangerous street gangs, civil war, or whatever, they want to escape a bad place. Refugees from Syria are fleeing from a civil war in which several other country are

On Sleep

by PeterL on 05-16-2018 at 10:02 AM
During my nearly two months in the clutches of the medical industry I developed a greater appreciation for sleep, because I missed so much.

When I was in the hospital, on a typical night I would get a few hours of sleep before I would be awoken by technicians for some medical reason, vital signs or to change an IV or something. After being woken up that way I seldom got back to sleep; although I might get another hour or two of sleep then or during the day. But I needed sleep. The
