Alright. You will inform me of when that is, right?

    Oh. I don't think I've read it.

No, I don't think I have. Is this a recent story you've put up?

No. Right now, I'm not a follower of any God. Until I can get solid proof, It's all illusions and stories fabricated by men over time. I guess I''m a neutral. Religion...Now that is a deep subject.

Goddess of luck, huh? One word: Mythology.

So you believe it's a sense of hope that there is a such thing as good luck?

    I don't think I have, but I will.

According to logic, there's no such thing as good luck. There's always a loophole that can be explained.

And I don't think anything short of a global natural disaster will wipe out everyone.

Well...I believe for every disease that's came up in history, there's been one or a few people who it didn't affect...Thus it can never fully reach 100%. And those effected by the disease usually die out, and the ones who aren't live on. At least, that's the way I see it. It's Darwin's most popular theory.

well, It'll be easier o read if it were all together. I'll PM you my email.

Ahhhh. Okay...I'll buy that, but it'll never reach 100%. Those with mutations that make them immune to it will live on and the weaker ones will die off. All about the survival of the fittest.

It's not possible to send it on here, or do you need my email address?

    Very true.

Now, back to the Pneumonic Plague...it's not possible for 100% mortality rates. There's always going to be one person whose immune to it because of a mutation in their DNA.

Hey, just send it over when you're finished rewriting.

Rule of Law

by PeterL on 11-21-2021 at 01:46 PM
I have already written about the lack of care in using laws and the constitution as the bases for governmental action, but something has to be done about it, one way or another.

It bothers me that the federal government has taken over some of the powers of the states, even though the feds are explicitly forbidden from assuming any powers that have not been granted to it. We just have to look at the federal departments to see this. Department of Education, Department of Health

How Much" Eliminating Inflation

by PeterL on 10-29-2021 at 10:11 AM
I don't often think about inflation, but it is present whenever I buy anything, and it is not as benign as some would have us think. There are many measures of inflation, but I like to use a few things to show the change in proportion. You may not remember it, but in 1820 an ounce of gold was worth $20. That same ounce of gold would have sold for $35 in the 1960'a. But that isn't comparable, because the market for gold was highly regulated.

Another comparison is in the cost of labor

Fake Science

by PeterL on 10-14-2021 at 10:03 AM
I have followed science news for decades, but I have become progressively less impressed with it, because of the lower quality of the reporting. Part of the reason might be that I am more knowledgeable now than I was a few decades ago, but I do think that the writers of science articles are not as familiar with the material they are writing about as was typical in the past. Some articles give me the impression that the writer had no prior knowledge of the subject at hand.

Something About Post-Apocalyptic Literature

by PeterL on 10-02-2021 at 01:46 PM
It has been written that a work of fiction is a conversation between the author and the reader, or one side of the conversation. That that implies that the reader must think about and understand what the author is expressing ( see The Role of the Reader by Umberto Eco for more detail). For that reason, I am giving some insight into my novels Causation and Paradoxes and Contradictions.

I have long had a problem with most apocalyptic and post-apocalyptic literature and movies, because
