yep. I did. ketchup and mustard? really? I would think those things are bad for you, since most condiments usually are...oh! Cut it with water! Why didn't I think about that? That stuff is very very gross....oh the things women do to lose weight! I envy men and their fast-working metabolisms!

H.G. Wells, huh? Famous author. What is is about, this short story you're recommending?

Hey! Guess what? I lost about 8 to 10 pounds! I guess I just proved that I can lose it in less than a week. The trick I was taught was to drink a tablespoon or teaspoon of Apple Cider Vinegar. The stuff is awfully horrendous, but it absolutely worked.
I also dranka very big glass of water before eating...and of course...watched what I ate(this was the hardest part).

I think that is it! Going home and eating the food you miss...Yup. That's exactly how they gain it.
  5. View Conversation
Yeah. Institutional food, although good, isn't usually what people crave...but it's a bad thing, my family spoiling me with good food, because it is very important for me to lose weight for my job. They will fire me if I keep gaining like this.

Hehe. How'd you know? That's very true. I swear, I'm going to be sleeping good this whole week....so much action! Almost makes me not want to go back on Friday.
  7. View Conversation
Yes, very much. Spending time with the family. They really are spoiling me.
  8. View Conversation
Yes. I'll be working on my paper, have my take-home test completed already, and I'll be studying for my Plane Trig test. But for most of the time, I'll be spending time out of town.

Well now...Isn't that true...Well now in the present, I've got a week off of school.

Ah yes.... another thing to worry about. Thanks.

High Crimes

by PeterL on 12-05-2019 at 04:58 PM
It has come to my attention that some people do not believe that Donald J. Trump has done anything for which he should be impeached, convicted, and thrown out of office. Maybe those people are confused by the phrase used in the Constitution for reasons for impeachment and conviction: “high crimes and misdemeanors”. That isn’t how it would be put these days, but high crimes means felonies or major crimes, but the term misdemeanor has not significantly changed over the years, and it still means lesser

Degenerate Generations

by PeterL on 11-18-2019 at 08:03 PM
In Discourses on the First Ten Books of Titus Livius, Niccolò Machiavelli went on at some length about how elders have been complaining about the younger generation and younger people have been complaining about the elders for thousands of years. His thought was that the degeneration was exaggerated, because humanity would have fallen into savagery long ago if the generations were progressively that degenerate. Or I might have made that up to try to make Machiavelli look even better. But even the

Financial Equality

by PeterL on 11-11-2019 at 09:15 PM
Recently the idea of taxing billionaires out of existence was brought up by Elizabeth Warren as part of her run for president. She wants to use the proceeds from this tax to fund her idea of Medicare for everyone, so she thinks that a tax that discriminates against some people is a good idea, even though it would be a statutory taking and a violation of due process. Such ideas have come up in the past, but the basic problem with it still is that removing the incentive to be successful will stop

2020 or 1860

by PeterL on 11-05-2019 at 08:13 PM
It’s too early to predict a winner in the 2020 presidential election with much confidence, but a few things have happened recently that provide some reasonable ideas. In early October, the Dems had another debate, and the alleged pundits think that Elizabeth Warren came off the winner, and Biden was in second, but Lizzie has since then come out with her 70 trillion dollar medical insurance plan, and Biden continues to plug along. I get the impression that Sanders is seen as falling, and the munchkins

History Again Repeats

by PeterL on 10-30-2019 at 07:29 AM
Today (mon. 10/28/2019) I had a conversation about the 2020 presidential election. Over the weekend, Trump was booed and treated to the chant "Lock him up" at a World Series game. I recalled how I had thought a few years ago that 2020 may look a lot like 1860, when it comes to the presidential election. The person I was talking with agreed. Then we tried to figure out who the four major candidates will be. I don't recall who we determined on, but we didn't have confidence in the choices,
