Heavens no! I was just pointing out that back then, humans believed in sacrificing, but now, sacrificing is looked upon as gruesome. We, as humans, change our beliefs through the years.

    Yes, I'm very telepathic.
I understand what you were trying to say. I just like teasing you a little.
What we humans believe change so many times through the years. We used to think sacrificing offerings(human or beast) to Gods was a way of living. But now, most people think it's morally wrong. And on lighter terms, we could use your example. I'm taking Mexican-American History, and just learned some gruesome things, so that's where my example came from.

So why would you say "But there are a few things that are not actually possible"?

and then turn around and say, "And sometimes those things that were alleged to be impossible happen."

Sounds a little contradicting, doesn't it? But I can vouch for that. Most of the time, my thinking is worse. It's always on shifting grounds.

Of course, if you're going beyond the possible.....

    And yes, never give up!

lookng into a position in another country sounds like a cool option.
Well, I believe there's always a way for what you want.

Are none of the colleges or universities interested in taking you as an employee, or the jobs aren't interesting enough for you to be one? If it's the former, why just look at on campus?

    Latter, that's your fault.

Yes, I am a student once more. I'm taking English, Statistics, Mexican American History, a dance class, and Tai chi.

    And why can't you?

Fake Science

by PeterL on 10-14-2021 at 10:03 AM
I have followed science news for decades, but I have become progressively less impressed with it, because of the lower quality of the reporting. Part of the reason might be that I am more knowledgeable now than I was a few decades ago, but I do think that the writers of science articles are not as familiar with the material they are writing about as was typical in the past. Some articles give me the impression that the writer had no prior knowledge of the subject at hand.

Something About Post-Apocalyptic Literature

by PeterL on 10-02-2021 at 01:46 PM
It has been written that a work of fiction is a conversation between the author and the reader, or one side of the conversation. That that implies that the reader must think about and understand what the author is expressing ( see The Role of the Reader by Umberto Eco for more detail). For that reason, I am giving some insight into my novels Causation and Paradoxes and Contradictions.

I have long had a problem with most apocalyptic and post-apocalyptic literature and movies, because

Whose Problem

by PeterL on 09-25-2021 at 02:54 PM
I donít think it will come with a whimper or a bang. A few good epithets are much more likely. Or maybe I am just becoming less patient with those humans (the ones who do really stupid things.), but it isnít just me. Consider the recent news: Apparently the Gabby Petito matter became a crime, because that guy wasnít able to control himself in dealing with a rather attractive woman. Any man stupid enough to murder a woman like Gabby should get the same treatment, when he will be caught.

On Civil Disobedience

by PeterL on 09-18-2021 at 02:19 PM
Today I started thinking about the people planning a march in Washington in regard to the attack on the Houses of Congress. The Duty of Civil Disobedience implies the opposite, when that is appropriate, and that would include non-governmental action against people attacking the country and its institutions.

I have no trouble imagining citizens of the U.S.A. being unhappy with some actions of the government, but I canít understand people attacking the process of elections and asserting
