Oh, I also gave your book titles and name to our best-selling bookstore, who like to be on top of 'whats new'... so here's hoping!

Peter, I have not, as yet, read your books. I have put in a suggestion to our Library, to obtain them. They have yet to let me know the status.
I do not order stuff online, books, clothes, etc., so I am at the mercy of the library. If they do not come through, then I can try our local bookstore to place an order. I would very much like to read these two books for sure.
Don't know what is new in Sask-a-bush (lol, slang for Saskatchewan). But here in Manitoba we are in the midst of a beautiful autumn...

Who profits from climate change alarmism

by PeterL on 09-16-2023 at 03:52 PM
Consider businesses that have grown from the climate change alarmism. They range from making electric cars to making or selling solar panels to windmill arrays, and there are other companies that are looking toward sea level rise, the melting of Greenlandís ice, and other changes happening as results of climate change. There will be more, and there are some who are pushing for restrictions on economic activity because of assertions that those activities caused climate change. Like most social changes,

How Long

by PeterL on 08-30-2023 at 02:44 PM
For several reasons, I sometimes wonder how long humans can live, and I also wonder whether death may be voluntary. In my limited experience, people often seem to have an innate sense for how long they will live, and they are relatively accurate, and that has led me to wonder how long humans can live. There was that Chinese herbalist, Li Ching-Yuen, who lived more than 250 years. And there was Old Tom Parr, an Englishman who lived 152 years. And there are others who were 150 years or older when

New Ethics

by PeterL on 08-15-2023 at 03:23 PM
Maybe it's just in this area, but it seems like the standards for ethics and honesty have changed in the last few years. While it is easy to point at Trump as the paragon of these new standards, he isn't the only one, but no one has produced such a wide range of new ethical standards. The sexual ethical standards of Hollywood recruiters were a ďspecial caseĒ, because they were not used in other industries to any significant degree. But Trump had the nerve to apply those standards to a casual encounter

Flunked Kindergarten?

by PeterL on 08-03-2023 at 06:52 PM
Recently, I have encountered many examples of people acting in ways that they should have learned better about in kindergarten. There are many basics about dealing in a world where you are not the only; person that many people learn at a young age, but I have been encountering people who donít even know how to deal with a line, and some people who never learned that one does nor block exits, stairs, etc. And today, there was one person who walked up behind me and grabbed my shoulders. I only yelled,

Crises in the News

by PeterL on 07-22-2023 at 02:51 PM
Decades ago, we learned about grade inflation in schools and colleges. Today we are having another kind of inflation; Journalism is inflating everything into a crisis. And it isnít just journalism; the government is doing the same thing. Yesterday I got an emergency notification on my phone that there was a flash flood watch. There was a thunderstorm later, but I was nowhere near any watercourse that flooded.

If that were the only crisis. Then it would be amusing, but people have
