well, I got you to acknowledge there is a difference!
YOU: "I used both to give you an opportunity to say that I was saying that they are different. They are slightly different, but it depends on howone interrprets them."

    No! ....oh....yeah. :blushing: well...
  3. View Conversation
That was what I was trying to get you to see the difference on...because you said they were the same thing, and I said they were different.

    very funny.

.... his works don't taste good! Not him! But besides that....I was pointing out the fact that you used style and feelings seperately...

    previously quoted by you:
"I can think of a lewd way to demonstrate what I wrote. Taste is closely relted to feelings, so much so that they become indistinguishable."
And yet, you later on you distinguished a difference between the two by acknowledging both...if you thought they were different, you would have only used one! Ha!
And you agreed with me when I said this...
"Like I con't care for Thoreau...well then. I understand. Blake isn't part of your style. So your feelings toward him are uninterested?" heehee. Look at the evidence!

As for the other...well...what were we trying to prove? We both were trying to get our insights clear, right? I was still right, but your personal opinions were still ...we both won that round?

And I see you don't understand that it was I who was in the right...oh's not that that you don't're just in denial!
  7. View Conversation
    Well then...your conclusions are wrong.

    eh....nope. Guess Again!

I kinda thought I was getting you to see my side of things. who's persuaded who?

Financial Equality

by PeterL on 11-11-2019 at 09:15 PM
Recently the idea of taxing billionaires out of existence was brought up by Elizabeth Warren as part of her run for president. She wants to use the proceeds from this tax to fund her idea of Medicare for everyone, so she thinks that a tax that discriminates against some people is a good idea, even though it would be a statutory taking and a violation of due process. Such ideas have come up in the past, but the basic problem with it still is that removing the incentive to be successful will stop

2020 or 1860

by PeterL on 11-05-2019 at 08:13 PM
Itís too early to predict a winner in the 2020 presidential election with much confidence, but a few things have happened recently that provide some reasonable ideas. In early October, the Dems had another debate, and the alleged pundits think that Elizabeth Warren came off the winner, and Biden was in second, but Lizzie has since then come out with her 70 trillion dollar medical insurance plan, and Biden continues to plug along. I get the impression that Sanders is seen as falling, and the munchkins

History Again Repeats

by PeterL on 10-30-2019 at 07:29 AM
Today (mon. 10/28/2019) I had a conversation about the 2020 presidential election. Over the weekend, Trump was booed and treated to the chant "Lock him up" at a World Series game. I recalled how I had thought a few years ago that 2020 may look a lot like 1860, when it comes to the presidential election. The person I was talking with agreed. Then we tried to figure out who the four major candidates will be. I don't recall who we determined on, but we didn't have confidence in the choices,

Is there Intelligent Life

by PeterL on 10-08-2019 at 06:45 PM
A few hours ago, I had a brilliant thought. I decided that I should investigate it, before I try to capitalize on it. Alas, I learned that others have had very similar ideas, so I canít make all of the money from it. But I realized that there is a good reason that can explain why we havenít encountered any intelligent alien life, yet. The reason is: mitochondria, a sort of bacteria that provide energy to the eukaryote cells. Mitochondria are symbiotic cells that have their own DNA. It is thought

Or What?

by PeterL on 10-06-2019 at 04:51 PM
I frequently wonder about those silly Earthlings. Most of them Have serious problems with science, math, mathematics, and logic. How did they manage to develop anything even vaguely like civilization? But I haven't been able to figure out why they have such problems. But I haven't been able to figure out why. Is it herd mentality (which would be an inborn tendency) that makes them believe without question anyone who is said to be an authority, or what, but most humans seem to have a need to agree
