Heavens no! I was just pointing out that back then, humans believed in sacrificing, but now, sacrificing is looked upon as gruesome. We, as humans, change our beliefs through the years.

    Yes, I'm very telepathic.
I understand what you were trying to say. I just like teasing you a little.
What we humans believe change so many times through the years. We used to think sacrificing offerings(human or beast) to Gods was a way of living. But now, most people think it's morally wrong. And on lighter terms, we could use your example. I'm taking Mexican-American History, and just learned some gruesome things, so that's where my example came from.

So why would you say "But there are a few things that are not actually possible"?

and then turn around and say, "And sometimes those things that were alleged to be impossible happen."

Sounds a little contradicting, doesn't it? But I can vouch for that. Most of the time, my thinking is worse. It's always on shifting grounds.

Of course, if you're going beyond the possible.....

    And yes, never give up!

Are none of the colleges or universities interested in taking you as an employee, or the jobs aren't interesting enough for you to be one? If it's the former, why just look at on campus?

    Latter, that's your fault.

Yes, I am a student once more. I'm taking English, Statistics, Mexican American History, a dance class, and Tai chi.

    And why can't you?

Creating a Pandemic

by PeterL on 03-27-2020 at 08:54 PM
I don't have the detailed information, but judging from what shows up online, it appears that the R0 of the Covid19 virus is about three or a little more, that means that each person infected spreads it to three other people. That's a middling level of contagiousness, but it may be deceptive, because about 50% of infections are asymptomatic. That person running around the block might be carrying a serious infection that attacks lungs, but she may run a five minute mile and show no signs of the infection.

Great Publicity

by PeterL on 03-10-2020 at 07:26 PM
I have written against marketing lies, but I never before have seen a publicity campaign as successful as what has been done with Coronavirus. Until a few months ago, most people would have expressed ignorance, if they were asked about Coronavirus; although a few would remember SARS and/or MERS. There are a few people who have actually looked into it, and I even used Coronavirus in a novel, Harry's Time Tours (soon to be renamed Causation). I recently reread that section of Causation, and it was

Winning with 43%

by PeterL on 02-29-2020 at 05:25 PM
Could Trump win the election with only forty-three percent of the popular vote? Someone could easily win with 48%, but the votes would come from many places to get his vote total down to 43%. I will have to look at the state by state numbers to figure it out in detail, but if Trump fails to take several states that he took in 2016, then his popular vote total will be even lower this time, and he will be losing some states. People have won with less than 43 % of the popular vote, but there were unusual

Eliminating Lies

by PeterL on 02-23-2020 at 06:54 PM
In the past, it seemed like most people used facts as the bases of their opinions; Marketers usually based their campaigns in fact; even politicians worked from facts. And people who disagreed usually started from contrary facts. Recently, it has seemed like most people ignore facts, just saying what their fantasies dictated.

It might be that I was deluded in the past, and it could be that I have been mistaken more recently, but I think it would be safe to say that even opinions

September Surprise

by PeterL on 02-07-2020 at 07:37 PM
I have refrained from using my perspective from the 28th century to report events to this period, but this was so monumental that I felt compelled to share the information. Don't worry too much, because Trump was just a minor blip in history who was mostly forgotten within a decade.

It was early September, and the country was getting used to the idea that Trump probably would be president for another term. We were even getting used to having a president who knew as much about the
