Bronte was brilliant in whatever she wrote (except some parts of Shirley perhaps) and she was so much ahead of her era in her views and feelings about what a woman is or should be. Did you know that in a letter to Gaskell she asked her, if she (Gaskell), who had such a large family and was also a writer, could find the time to be the woman of herself?
