Good luck then! If you should ever happen to devise a symphony, just let me know. I want to be fully informed

You're welcome! Glad you deciphered some of it on your own Actually there are some other translations flying out there, but they are not very accurate (don't know really why given the very simple lyrics. I guess some translators are not very good... with all due humbleness )

If I ever saw that film, it must have been a very long time ago. Of course I know Audrey Hepburn, mainly through my parents' comments, but I must admit I'm not very much into classics. Anyhow you have aroused an interest. I should see it and see what happens...

Hey, look, something random passing through my mind right now! It urges me to say "yabadabadoo"

By the way, very nice new avy. Is it you on it?
Hmm... at the risk of sounding ignorant... what does Shoop-dee-doop mean? Is it an interjection?

Gracious girl from Malaga (Malagueña Salerosa)

    How cute eyes you have
    Below those two eyebrows
    Below those two eyebrows
    How cute eyes you have

They want to look at me
    But you don't let them
    But you don't let them
    Blink... at least

    Gracious girl from Malaga
To kiss your lips I'd want
To kiss your lips I'd want
    Gracious girl from Malaga
And to tell you, beautiful girl
    That you're cute and bewitching
    That you're cute and bewitching
Like the candour of a rose

With your eyes you announced me
    That you loved me tenderly
    That you loved me tenderly
With your eyes you announced me
    Ungrateful you betrayed me
When I was away from you
When I was away from you
of my passion you made mockery

If you despise me for being poor
I concede that you are right
I concede that you are right
If you despise me for being poor
    I can't offer you riches
    I offer you my heart
    I offer you my heart
    In exchange for my poverty

"Magnanimous Greatest" is so full of "grace" and "light" that he decided to spread some mercy upon someone who is "graciously lighted" by her name

Nah, you needn't another mind. I'm sure you do pretty well with that one you think to have lost. If you needed another I would have already noticed. I have a talent for smelling mindless folks... even across the oceans

Nope, I can't play instruments because I never took the serious decision to learn. Some time ago an uncle lent me a guitar, so I wanted to learn, but suddenly he wanted it back, surely to sell it for less than it's really worth (it was a cute acoustic guitar of the traditional type made by a luthier). Anyhow I couldn't rescue it because it was his, so I can't complain

Why! You must be a very good observer if you can decipher parts of songs by watching someone else do it!

And talking about a song (a literal translation, as accurate as possible)...

No, No, No... no apologies... I'm royally offended...

Uh, huh... so you lost your mind, uh?

Since I am a goodytwoshoes I have decided to forgive you

I'll work out a translation. Just give me a li'l time and you'll have it
So you took French the second year?
Can you play the keyboard by ear, at least a bit? Any musicians in the family?

Good for you, don't let them enjoy your agony! SHOW THEM THE FURY YOU'RE MADE OF! ...

Yummy, yummy... Kill Bill .... so much blood and dismembered limbs ... yummy, yummy

I know that song. Actually many of our local folk bands and soloists perform renditions of it all the time (must be catchy for them too ). If you just came here and stayed for a lil while you would hear its many Argentinian variants
According to Wikipedia (I dunno much about Mexican folk songs, sorry ): Malagueña Salerosa is a traditional Mexican folk song written by Elpidio Ramírez, Roque Ramírez and Pedro Galindo, which has been covered by many performers (Wikipedia was probably thinking about Argentinian singers... btw, can Wikipedia think? ).

So they just stayed there watching you struggle? How cruel... you should have burned them with the sparklers so they know what's good!

Me? I'm running away from smokes... I'm beginning to fear them on account of your experiences ...

So, I've had a long time to think about it...
and it's been decided that my story, Amor a Primera Vista, is to be completely reworked.

...with the ending FINALLY added.

Shan't be too long.

"Amor a Primera Vista" (6/7)

by LadyW on 11-17-2008 at 08:30 PM
Change of plan folks. There will now be 7 parts to the story. This was so difficult to write; I hope it doesn't disappoint you.

The light streamed through the gap of the curtains, and greeted me as I awakened. I proceeded into the bathroom, where I inspected the newly formed freckles on my tanned nose, before cleaning my teeth and washing. I selected my clothing, and coated my skin in lotion that smelled just like coconut. Carefully placing the blue flower slide into my hair (which

"Amor a Primera Vista" (5)

It's the penultimate instalment everyone.

The night had ended for most people; only a small group of Spanish men in their sixties lingered behind, drinking liquors and smoking cigars. There were a small number of waiters and waitresses dotted about the terrace collecting glasses and wiping down the tables.

I walked through the clear glass doors and saw him sat on the stage by the balcony, looking out onto the bay with his phone in hand. I walked slowly across

"Amor a Primera Vista" (4)

So, this is part 4 out of a possible 6 parts. Apologies, as it's most likely riddled with mistakes - but it is(was) 2.35am.

He would leave the next day. I can't say I was fazed much by this prospect; if anything, it was quite a relief... like a heavy weight lifted from my conscience. Despite remaining so decided that the next 24 hours would pass with no emotional complications, the eve prior to his departure was still strange to me - I just couldn't identify this change in atmosphere.

"Amor a Primera Vista" (3)

by LadyW on 11-14-2008 at 03:23 PM
So I mentioned I had approximately 2/3 of it written down on paper. I have now finished transferring it onto the computer. I will be working on the last part this weekend, but I imagine it will be quite difficult. Enjoy.

“One kiss...please?” he uttered with that low, husky voice and hypnotic stare. I observed his mouth as he spoke; it was so small, but so gentle.
“I can’t...” I whispered, my breath was heavy - as was my heart.
“Just 2 seconds. Close your eyes.”
