Ah, so it's very important! -- why were you dizzy?

That sounds like a really fascinating topic if you end up choosing it. I havent gotten to Turgenev in reading yet, although I'm glad to be reminded of his name, because I've wanted to read him for a while and lately I've been lacking in books to read. Of Tolstoy, I've only read Anna Karenina actually, which I loved. I read in the introduction, I believe, that Tolstoy's contemporaries called it just a romance, did not think it was a good novel, while Dostoevsky hailed it as "flawless as a work of art."

I've read most of Dostoevsky's works but not all of them. I still haven't read The Idiot or Demons(I think? Devils?). Do you know of the famous quote of Nietzsche: "Dostoevsky is the only psychologist from whom I have anything to learn."? I love Dosteovsky as a psychologist. Have you read Notes from the Underground or The Gambler?

I loved all I read I mentioned, I really enjoyed it. I do not have a great history of writing essays, but I'd be more than willing to listen to ideas and tell you what I think.
  2. Oh sorry about that. I'm quite dizzy perhaps when I typed those. Basically my thesis is for the completion of my final grade and a requirement for us to graduate. So we are given time to think and start a proposal that'll be submitted soon. I am now in the "search" for a "good" topic to research on. I'm curios and quite am fancying the Literatures of Russians. But I still have not yet decided on what particular subject to focus on. I am thinking of the Psychological approach in Dostoevsky, Tolstoy and Turgenev's works though I want to have a lot of possible choices before considering a good topic. I guess you have a lot of ideas to share Nik!

But I'm more than happy to help if I can.

I'm sorry. I should have explained. In the sentences, "I'm thinking I will focus on Russian Lit in my thesis. It's not yet started coz until not I'm thinking of a nice topic," there are some errors in the second sentence, and I can't understand your meaning.

    What is your thesis for?

    I don't understand.

    Of course, what is it?

    Hello there. How's it going?

Hello eye, I missed seeing you around; where have you been anyway? I am glad you missed my page, likewise. I just might change it one of these days. Presently though, I seem to have accumulated a bunch of computer work I need to attend to. I need to install a new program for Adobe Photoshop version; I also need to load up a portable device with photos of my grandbaby, which I can carry with me everywhere. It would be nice if I stopped procratinating and tried again to install my cordless keyboard, not to mention the issue with my scanner program; that also needs to be reinstalled. Will there ever be free time really?

So enough about me. How have you been, eye? I am taking a little break from Litnet this week myself. I don't have any serious discussions active right now, so I can afford the luxury this week to goof off a bit.

Wrapping up

by eyemaker on 03-16-2010 at 05:25 AM
The semester is almost over and things are getting a lot better in my part. Papers are done and so is my research paper in its half-way. If I think of all the things that we have been through this sem, I would probably end up dozed-off (more than I have ever imagined). A lot of things came up that made me a little more skinny than my usual structure-and as pale as a sick patient. Counting on on what have we done. . . Poetry Hour (poetry presentation) where we presented Hawaiian poems, World Poetry
