  1. thank you,Qim, for your kind words,,am equally sorry to learn you missed your brother for good at a tender age. My wife and I were of almost same age, 51, when she died about 8 years ago. Sometimes for some people like me it is really very difficult to forget the loss of a dear one- the nostalgia almost clenches your heart at the thought.

Dear me, love is only first love,,,rest is just something else. In fact I had been unlucky in this respect as far as my parents , siblings and relatives are concerned and now as I grow older I can observe how the kids change with time so much so that you are left to die in loneliness.
Every body seems to b e over occupied with his /her own prblems and priorities,,,quite natural ofcourse,,,,and cannot be a substitute for your
gone forever life partner, especially in the middle age.

I like your names ,,,,Qis and Leslie ,,both are sweet.

You havnt told me about your family...I mean,,,hmmm,,,, well you understand men shouldnt put such questions to girls!! lol

I like your poetry ,,,you are equally deft at it and brilliant.

It's summer time here...hot and humid,,,,,I don't go out much ,,,just watch TV or am gooking with old school mates and net friends or reading their long mails mostly general articles from here and there.

    Have a nice day!
    cheers
    maz

fyi my email is mazhur at gmail.com ,, quite simple, ain't it??

I am so very sorry that you lost your wife. My parents have been married for 60 plus years. I don't know what will happen to whomever is left behind. And while grief can never entirely go away, I believe you will be capable of finding some joy in life at some point, and I truly believe your wife would want that for you.

We lost my brother many years ago now, twenty-two I believe. I will never forget how my parents suffered. I have a picture I took of them about six months after his death. They are both sitting, arms on their legs, their heads bowed. Mom said there was no happiness in their lives for about five years. She said she didn't think there would ever be, and then she said one day she smiled, and it crept back into her life.

I am not trying to convince you that what is in your heart will ever be different than it is now. Your life is yours to experience in your own way. But life is urgent and it never exists in a vacuum...it demands to be lived. As it says in the Bible.."weeping may endure for a night, but joy cometh in the morning." Sometimes whether we want it to or not.

I hope you have a beautiful day, knowing there are people close by who love you.

(BTW it is an Inuit word meaning 'Snowbound;' it has no personal meaning in that sense. I chose it about five years ago as a username for the internet because I liked it-I thought it was pretty and unusual, and I've used it ever sense. My real name is Leslie, which I also like. )
  3. Hi Qim

<<<<<<<<<<<<<You sound like you have a happy family, and that is the greatest pleasure of all.>>>>>>>>>

thanks,Qim ( BTW what does your name mean?? Is it a pen name or the one 'baptized'?)

I could but only smile at your above assumption,,,i wish i had a happy family (and life) without a passed away wife !

Life just goes on like a stray kite at the mercy of wind!

    mazHur,

And it is interesting to know about you. I love this part (well, all parts of the ) forum-talking to people from all around the world.

No, I've never been to Asia or the Middle East, not from lack of desire. I got to visit Europe once, long ago when I was just out of college. I loved it. I would still love to travel widely, and maybe I will, one day.

My main hobbies are also reading and writing poetry, and for me walking. Maybe I need to branch out a little.

You sound like you have a happy family, and that is the greatest pleasure of all.

Oh, and thank you. I enjoy your poetry also; you have a deft touch. See you at the 'games!'

  5. Hi

Nice knowing about you, it has surely been a pleasure to read your poetry, especially haikus and cinquains.

Am a retired man, an ex-businessman. Apart from technological research (inventions), reading, writing and poetry are my hobbies.
I write in Urdu and English.

Yes,Symph had told me she is studying and aspires to go for higher education abroad. She's indeed a very brainy pretty little girl!

Have you ever been to our part of the world, ie South Asia or the Middle East??

I have been to the US a couple of times, my first visit being in 1979 and the last one in 1986. Yours is a great country but unfortunately for long I have had no business there to induce me to visit it again. (though i would love to do that). FYI I sold shrimp and lobsters to your country but after mid 90's exports to US were discontinued due to ample supply of cultured prawns plus USFDA's extra rigidness on quality
    of imports from South Asia.

I live in Karachi, right at the edge of the Arabian Sea, with my 3 boys and 2 daughters and one grand daughter,5.

take care and keep in touch

    fondest regards

    mazHur,

I live in Dallas, Texas. I've been here for awhile, about fifteen years-but I'm from Oklahoma, a state just north of Texas.

I am a teacher-I teach high school. Actually, I've been on summer vacation since the first week of June. We went back to work this week, and our students start back on Monday. So I may not be on quite as often as I have been. But I've enjoyed this so
much that it is something I will continue to make time for.

How about you? Are you a student? Symphony is, isn't she?

Take care, and I'll see you at our 'games!'

Dearest mazHur, Thank you for answering my question. I was starting to worry that I had offended you. After I posted that I began to think it was a name. I have heard of the surname Bhatt-in fact a teacher at my school a few years ago had that last name. Thank you for being open and frank with me.

There is absolutely nothing wrong with your page-I never intended to make that implication. I replied to some people on my page, and someone suggested that I go to theirs to make those replies (now I'm thinking of symhony and Kiz; I was checking occasionally for your answer).

Thank you for the time reference-it helps me place things in my mind. Have a great night's sleep, and I'll see you in 'the games!" Or here.
  9. Hello Logos
