Oh my lord. Just watched the first episode of the BBC Sense and Sensibility, wow. Yes I've seen it before and I enjoyed it then, but I didn't realise just how much I enjoyed it. I had a dream about that cottage on the cliff in Devon. I can't wait for the second episode tomorrow. I'm tempted to put the second one on but it is already 12 and I have work in the morning. Damn. How do you rate it? I'm guessing you have seen it?

It's definitely going to be a long haul but I reckon very much worth it, like you say.

Thanks again for the info and help. It has now been ordered!

Hello kiki, thanks for your message!
I've been reading about translations in the Victor Hugo author page and noticed you'd read it in the original so your recommendation is even more valuable. Wilbour definitely sounds like the one I'm going to order. I have no choice but to read a translation so it's important for me to read one as close to the author's tone and style as possible. I'll let you know my thoughts when I've finished it - with the length of it I don't think that'll be very soon! I've noticed you have good taste in novels though

    OK, thanks for that.

I must explain. I enjoy the lager especially when I am very thirsty after tennis. Bitburger and Warsteiner hit the spot very well under these conditions. They are very similar I must say though, which probably comes down to the purity law in part and brewing similarities.

The Budvar is a good alternative indeed and I think the move to Czech lager is a good reminder too.

I don't like the Fosters or Stella that much, though Stella is more drinkable than Foster's, I prefer the Bitburger/Warsteiner.

Of course, the lagers job for me is about quenching the thirst, the real real taste comes with those Belgian beers naturally, or other good real ales, British/American etc, etc. Currently just sipping a Leffe.

Thanks for your advice. We had a great trip.

    All the best.

    Hello, hope you are well.

Have you got any good German lager recommendations for me? I am on a bit of a Bitburger and Warsteiner thing at the moment so any recommendations you might have along those lines would be good. (Of course this does not mean that I have abandoned Belgian ale, by any degree, just that I am into these at the mo, thanks.)

I am away for five days, so please forgive any immediate non-reply.

    Thanks, Neely.
