Happy Chanukah Prince. I hope you have a special holiday.

Here's a present and a card for you.

Hi Prince, well I hope you are enjoying the book. I doubt if the same can be said for the other subject. You have my sympathy. I like Eco's writing but I've only read Name of the Rose and Baudolino.

Anyway, try to be of good cheer for which ever holiday you choose to celebrate (or not, as the case may be) but whatever the occasion, a party always gives one a lift. May your lights shine brightly.

    Best - H
  4. You're most welcome, cher M. Faucon! I've just begun reading U. Eco's already fascinating novel, The Prague Cemetary, but at the same time I'm mulling over a fracture in my relationship with a woman who has been my partner for the past nearly three years.

Without wishing to hijack b/v's thread I just wanted to thank you for your reiterated appreciation of Exit Hope all is well with you.

I didnt know that. And I dont speak french... But hey, I dont speak latin or urdu or serbian or norwegian either, but have listened to, and then tried singing, songs in those languages. The key thing for me is to like the song. So I'll try to learn to sing this somehow, but it'll probably take me a while seeing what a tough time it is now for me.

And they're off...

I love electoral campaigns, especially when there is someone I can root for and against. The campaigns in the USA are of special interest to me because there is so much at stake there. I get involved not exclusively on the ground of the issues but equally or even more so, in terms of the intuitions and visceral reactions I have about the respective candidates.

I invite you to do one or both of the following: a) Make your predictions as to who will win the nomination in either party,
