There's a really good discussion on J.D. Salinger's short story, "A Perfect Day For A Banana Fish" here: http://www.online-literature.com/for...ad.php?t=54812. And if you don't have the story, there's a link there to read it on line. Maybe you can join in.

Hey man I've been pretty busy too. I hate it when I come to that moment of realization that I've spent the past month working and have hardly written anything poetically adequate.

End of the summer, that's good. I've missed your presence here

Hmm, I'm starting to lower my ambitions and coming to terms with reality (two years ago I had my heart set on going to Yale or Berkely), now I'm probably just planning to attend some college here in Wisconsin. I still can't decide between literature and film, but I still have time. I've just been so busy I've hardly had time to think about my future ambitions.

Thanks for your concern, they're doing much better everyone is quite fine now despite Diane's fractured eye and Emily's stitches in her elbow and knee :S

Me? Well it's been such an emotionally draining week for reasons not only from the accident, but I'm doing relatively well lol. What have you been up to? Haven't seen you in a while, what's up?

From a New Jersey Apartment to a New York Basement ... No Difference

by NickAdams on 12-17-2009 at 09:23 PM
We're set to move tomorrow. The tenants, living in what will be my new apartment, were suppose to move out on the thirteenth, or that's what my new landlord heard. Well, they're moving on the thirtieth.

The people helping us are free on Fridays and next Friday is Christmas and the following is the New Year, so it has to be tomorrow. Luckily, in this situation of course, my mother in-law lives in the apartment above the one we are waiting to move into. So, we'll be moving our belongings

Another One Bites the Dust ...

by NickAdams on 09-20-2009 at 07:44 PM
Another attempt at a short story to submit to the October competition. Abandoned after thirty minutes.

A month after his thirteenth birthday he was caught trying to steal a single flathead screwdriver from the general store. His mother was working a double shift that evening and it was his step-father that had been contacted. Neither spoke on the ride home.

He sat on his bed, head down, with his hands between his thighs and did not move until he heard his step-father

Schism

by NickAdams on 01-29-2009 at 01:16 PM
He was tied to a pyre of well seasoned oak after being convicted
of cross-dressing. His naked body shook from the cold and
the braided scales bowed at his flesh, while the gag muted his soprano.

He was not pleased with his audience, who danced with torches and keroscene.
The actions of his compatriots vexed him and he sought enlightenment,
"How have I ," the suction provoked by the vowel i caused him to choke
and after a silence ...
