    Quasi,

My answer is obviously biased. I've translated a lot of other Rilke poems, including others done by Mitchell, Snow, et al.. I didn't post those efforts because I didn't feel those efforts were any better than theirs. The one's I did post are, in my opinion, better than theirs, or I would have kept them to myself.

Odd... I can not send you PMs?!? I did not know that was an option one could switch off. Any ways, here is my respond to your PM:

Thanks for the poem "Party", but it is rather the Dutch (or Flemish if you wish) version which I can not find online. Or in the library for that matter... So I am sorry, but I can not tell you whether anything has changed in the translation

    Have a good day,
    Sapphire

You are quite welcome, Qusimodo. It was my pleasure.

By the way, you gave me a wonderful critique once-I went around with a smile on my face for days. I got your message about the contest, for which I do thank you. Unfortunately I am wa-a-a-y to old for it! However, as an English teacher I will keep it in mind for my students.

    Heya

I read your post in the contemporary poetry thread. I would like to comment on the poem "the party" in that way, but I can not find it online. The other poem I found [here], but I do not see this poem "Party" on that site. Google is not really helping me either. I tried for the Dutch word for it: "Feest" or "Feestje" but that did not help.

Thank you again for posting all these wonderful poems in there

    Greetings, Sapphire.
