I don't think I'll be able to claim 13 times for another couple of years, but I certainly do intend to be reading this book again and again for the rest of my life.
May I ask why Feanor? Such a fiery, spiteful character!

I read some of your impassioned defense of LOTR and I just wanted to say, well said! I love LOTR - both book and movie - and have for the last few years been reading other work by Tolkien, off and on.
  3. Oh GOD no, selfish woman that she is. BTW, have you heard of the rather amusing (if you are a sadist) story of a man in England who is going around poisioing/killing cats? Reminds me of a novel from which (I believe) you obtained your name, Kakfa's Crow. Talk about life imitating art!

No I will not get sucked in! Have you read [shrugs]Ayn Rand[/shrugs]?
  5. Haha....no thanks! Would much rather have one of the great Vladimir. I think Dostoevsky can be very funny, at times, and yes, his works contain a lot of high intellectual content, but it would have been better if he had concentrated his mind on the appropiate vehicle for his philsophizing-his novels merely end up becoming dummies, wearing clothes which promote Dostoevskii's political and religious theories. As for Sarte-he is my greatest influence as a writer, I mean if Sarte can write such trash and be labelled a genius, think of what I can do! Seriously, The Age of Reason is a terrible book.

The defeat in 1974 was unfair, we were better! But yes, it has affected me... Sartre and Dostoevsky are amongst my favourite writers, and I can't just sit and do nothing when someone is trash talking about them, especially when it simply isn't true... And please, find yourself an avatar, you might like this one:

human speech is like a cracked kettle on which we tap crude rhythms for bears to dance to, while we long to make music that will melt the stars-Flaubert
