I’m still wondering if there is some kind of law that requires all public discourse to include the phrase “going forward.” Yours fooly had begun...

I'm doing well, thanks. Busy with my OU assignment.

Sorry to hear about your back. Hope you are better now.

    How's OU going?

I am looking forward to it. I'm only doing the short course, which is level 1, but am hoping, if everything goes okay, to formalise my studies and expand into a Literature degree. So I will need to do The Arts: Past and Present and then I could do the full Creative Writing level 2 course and there's an advanced Creative Writing course which is level 3. So I'm hoping to do all of them and some other stuff to combine into a full Literature degree.
I'm nervous too. It's a while since I've studied and I'm a bit scared of biting off more than I can chew. But you never know until you try huh?
Seamus Heaney is really good; I'd love to be studying him.

It all sounds great I'm getting quite excited, but there's still a month to go. I'd love to do Archaeology; when I was going to university (which lasted all of 26 hours) I was doing ancient history and archaeology and I was really looking forward to it. But it wasn't to be. Geology sounds fascinating too. Words and earth, fantastic!
It must be exciting to be in the first set of people doing a course. I bet it'll be interesting. Do you start in October?

Hi Niamh thanks for your comments on my blog. How are you finding OU study? I'm a bit nerve-wracked about how to fit it around my day to day life, but excited at the same time. The course Voices and Texts sounds really good, I might have to bear that one in mind. How did you find the Arts Past and Present course?

It's sad when I'm more intrigued with a bookstore ina city I have never been to then meeting however briefly another daughter-in-law I'll never get to know well. (Slightly whining here and well aware of it.) The wedding WILL be nice but it's an i and out trip with no room for extras.

    hi Niamh
I just saw this performance of the Tain, and wanted to share it with you because I thought it was such an outstanding performance.
I guess the whole show is probably on there but it's scattered.

    What do you think?

Hello, just dropping by for an update!

by Niamh on 06-07-2013 at 07:29 AM
So, once again just popping by to say hello and give you an update on life!

But first... What is going on with the blogs! You can tell I haven't been on in ages from the fact that this is the first time I've been on the blogs since it changed... and I can't figure it out!

Anyhoodle... College is finished for the year and I just have TWO more courses to do before I graduate! I've decided not to do a second major and just have creative writing as my only major for my

Just popping by to say hello!

Well, I can't remember when the last time I logged in was!
Life has been mental. And I mean mental. Since I last posted, I've done six OU courses, been promoted in work, got engaged and am planning on getting married in March.
I'm also currently working on a novel and some poems for "hopefully" publishing.
Other then the fact that I barely have two seconds to myself, life is pretty peachy. Unfortunately, those two seconds aren't generally enough time to log in here

This day last year was when myself and Kilted first expressed our feelings. We've just spent the last year together (in a long distance way) and its been a wonderful year. In four days we'll be living together.

My Archaeological Digs 2003-2005

by Niamh on 05-18-2010 at 05:39 PM
As some of you are all aware, I was previously and Archaeologist. I thought i'd share my sites with you all!

College work experiences saw me on this one in Dundalk Co.Louth

I was on the site when they started stripping back and found the first curve of the ringfort. I returned to the site for a few days in the summer before heading to my very first employed Dig! It was in Carraigmacross
