Hi, did you read the thread? It becomes really interesting now. Will you please give me your honest opinions. I believe I wrote well.

It was put into general writing now. It is quite long, but one of the versions was written quite well, especially in its descriptions about glass works. The ideas are pretty, and the words for those ideas are.....You can continue with your words, which I wish and anticipate badly. If you really experience a hrad time reading one of the versions just as I did, ignore it. I only read one sentence from that long work, done by an expert, because it is not English, I think. However I didn't point out which one of the two was written by me, so I can draw some really honest advice. thanks, Virginia

Hi, I did read some of your posts over the years, though it is the first time that I sent you a message. Since you've read extensively as an artist for a long time, I do appreciate your honest views on works of translation, one done by me and the other by some professionals who spent years of their life thinking about skills to do translation, that led them all, as with one accord to match a word for a word accurately. It is not English. Will you please spend some time going through the two versions I presented in a thread in general literature and submit a reply, honestly. Sincerely, Virginia

stlukes, I remember you gave me some advice for reading the Bible a while ago. I just wanted to let you know that I've plunged head-on into reading the Old Testament (fun that I'm reading this during its 400th anniversary), and I am on track to finish it by the end of October. I just read the first part of Samuel. So much violence in the OT. My favorite part so far has been the "Song of Moses" at the end of Deuteronomy, while Genesis has been overall my favorite book so far.

You mentioned Friedmann's books, which I will read after I finish the Old Testament. The reading surprisingly hasn't been too difficult for me, so I have just tried to read from the Bible itself, instead of relying on other sources so far. I want to read them after I read the King James translation itself, which is (of course) marvelous.

What are your thoughts on photography as an artform? I have mixed feelings.

stlukes, if you don't mind, which version of Mozart's Requiem did you recommend in the Faulkner vs. Hemingway thread? I lost the link and it's tormenting me ...

    Thanks – cl154576

Yeah, I saw that, too. Pretty funny stuff. He had the same pompous, dickish attitude. Google his name, you find other places he's been to, also.

I reported some of his posts, also. I think ol' Pickle got a warning, as some of his newer posts seem a bit subdued.
