Hi St. Luke's--Just dropped by the music thread and thanked you for the Monteverdi. Been extremely busy with dissertation of late without much spare time for friends online or in person. If I meet all the writing and revision deadlines by summer's end though, and if things pass muster with the powers that be I may be looking at a publication or two that could help starve off the perishing for the nonce and my committee may let me out to compete for that rare beast, the full time academic position this fall.

Hope you're relishing your teaching free summer months. Have you been enjoying an artistically productive summer in the studio? Are you still working on those large scale pieces with the nude figures and the partially gilt geometric backgrounds (you shared some pictures of those awhile back and they looked stunning) or are you into another project now?

Thank you StLukes. We're just waiting now for word to go pick him up. I can't stand this state of limbo. Hope you are well.

Yes I can see how you'd be tempted with the offer, it sounds like a very good opportunity to get to New York and meet up with your friend at the same time. I assume that there is some value in getting to Boston as well. I guess you'll have to weigh up the pros and cons of it all.

Good luck with the gallery prospects. That would certainly be a good move if you could get your foot in the door somewhere and sell a few paintings maybe, got to be a better career than teaching if you can make it pay - though I suppose you'd settle for some extra CD and book money first!

    Keep up the good work.

Hi, had a great time getting to the opera in London, will certainly be making more trips!

The Royal Opera House is certainly a stunning place and the performance was magic.

I could have done with more time really, as I only had a couple of hours spare outside of the performance, just enough time to wander around Covent Garden a little, grab a bite to eat and nip in a pub for a pint (of course) so I'll have to organise another trip shortly, maybe just to generally explore.

Anyway, how are you? Keeping well I hope?
  6. I've heard the single... but I haven't heard the whole disc. Lots of alternative takes to get you to buy it again. You can get it through Amazon secondary dealers for about $12.

My friend and his wife just got approved for a US adoption through the social worker visit. The younger daughter (evil!) cured me of wanting more. The older girl is a sweetheart. She lives just outside NYC. Now I'm at the point with trying to push my own art work that I can't imagine taking on the responsibility of a child... and I know my wife feels the same. Still... I wish you all the best.

We are in our final two weeks (hopefully) of being in Kazakhstan. If you're best man is in need of any guidence, let me know. I'll be glad to help in whatever way I can.

Did you get the new Exile with the additional new songs? It came out while I've been away and I'm dying to get it.

Yeah, I saw your comment to Jozany in the Dante thread. You had a good night last night.

Thanks for your thoughts David. Have you seen my last four or five blogs? We are in Kazakhstan and we have found a baby (eight months -actually nine in a few more days-little boy) and we are going through the process. We will be here at least another five weeks. I'm recording a little record of it through my blog.
