We did SAP in uni as well (also a few hours only, so i guess you aren't supposed to learn it properly just have an idea)..i bought ETABS instead of SAP because i think it's better, but that's only my humble opinion..i am still trying to get the hang of it though..with SAP and ETABS you can "solve" any type of building..i have used it only once for my first steel structure (a factory)..for concrete building i use a greek program (it's called STEREOSTATIKA) which is very easy to use and have all the greek regulations and law in its database.
I don't think it's necessary to learn all those programs in university..a well trained engineer who knows his theory well, can learn a program on his/hers own (just reading the manual or having a trial lesson from the firm that sells the program-they do that here and i guess they do that everywhere). But still universities all over the world teach programs so i guess they know better than me

Yeah concrete structures! You know things are getting much better when you graduate and you start working..you see things and do things and all those stuff you've learned in university actually makes sense and looks easier ..and there are some tools, like the one i am using - ETABS- that make your life easier..
Autocad is so much fun..by far the most useful architect program..i also use archicad (mainly to make 3D designs so that clients can understand what i am going to build for them) but autocad is so much easier to work with.
Best of lack to your studying..if you are studying concrete structures at the moment you're gonna need some luck (besides hard work)

Poor Baz! I know how it feels like, believe me. I will never forget 3 of my profesors. Especially the one who taught steel structures..
