Merry Christmas Grace. We haven't spoken in a while. I hope you have a special holiday.

Here's a present and a card for you.

I never saw her do that routine before. She can dance really, well if she wants to; she roles her hands and everything. Kids are so changable and so funny. She also can sing 'Twinkle Twinkle' a lot better; but the little wand was distracting her...she thought it could be a necklace. She loves my costume jewelry necklaces. Were you able to see anymore of the videos in her album on Photobucket? Her dancing to Micheal Jackson was pretty funny last Halloween. You should have seen her and my son doing a 'chicken' dance last time I babysat. Unfortunately I didn't have the camera upstairs in her bedroom. It was hilarious - especially my grown son clucking and moving chicken-like. She will definitely get her sense of humor from this side of the family - we are all a bit nuts! LOL

She had a great party at a Gymboree and I took loads of video. I need to upload them all to Photobucket to share. You may be able to view other photobucket ones in the Brooke album....help yourself and do enjoy.

Oh I hate that when someone keeps a book of DVD. Perhaps you could ask for it back eventually. I like to keep the books I liked the best. Often I reread them.

Yes, Brooke makes me infinitely happy. She transforms me. I am asking when I can babysit now. Saturday is a possibility. I am hoping they go out and I am called in. I would love to see her everyday and play with her. I guess this is why they say older people go through a 'second childhood'...haha

Here is a little video (5 minutes) of Brooke doing her own thing with her magnetic frig letters. I think she looks so cute in this little sun outfit. Actually, I gave it to her last year and she is just fitting in it now. She now weighs 25 lbs and she turned 2 in May.

Hi Grace, do come and join us. I posted the new story - see the illustration. I don't expect to post any segments of the text until the weekend. We can start out slowly and work up our momentum. It would be great to have you onboard this time.

Brooke rarely wears dresses, so I was so happy to see her looking like a little lady. The bracelets were a try on belonging to her uncle's girlfriend. Whenever I go over to mind her she loves to check out my jewelry. I let her wear a few necklaces recently for a short time and second time she told me 'mine'...I had to tackle her to get that one back. Her mom and dad would kill me if they found her wearing a necklace. She looks bigger in that photo but I took a video not long ago and she looks like a peanut. I will send you the links soon. She is so smart it is scary. I love going there and playing with her. She's my delight and blessing and I love her so much! Love you, too...my adopted granddaughter!

Hi Grace, how are you; I miss talking to you. I just announced a short story in the Lawrence thread. I didn't know if you wanted to join in this time. It's a longer story and quite good. Hope you can participate.

There's a really good discussion on J.D. Salinger's short story, "A Perfect Day For A Banana Fish" here: http://www.online-literature.com/for...ad.php?t=54812. And if you don't have the story, there's a link there to read it on line. Maybe you can join in.

Fireworks

This was just an effort to get rid of the writers' block. I did not edit it otherwise I would not make the choice to post it....

There is something about the fireworks on Independence Day that never fails to lapse me into silent reflection; although I receive thorough enjoyment gazing up at them, they always bring with them some bout of sadness as well. For most of the early part of summer,

Guatemala 2010

by grace86 on 06-28-2010 at 07:25 PM
I feel kind of tactless and rude for posting this up on my blog, but as explained in the proceeding letter - I did not plan on going and as such instead of mailing this out to the friends on LitNet that I mailed it to last year, I've decided to post it this way. Should you feel interested in aiding me, please send me a private message for details on address information. - Thank you so much guys for putting up with me! I love you lots!!

Compassion for Souls, and Honoring One’s Charge

by grace86 on 04-28-2010 at 03:08 PM
-April 27th, 2010

Last August I experienced my second mission trip to Guatemala. It had been explained to the team that each year’s trip is always different than the last; the team dynamic is always suited to exactly what the Holy Spirit desires, and the type of outreach done seems always to vary depending on the needs of the people we go to serve. The morning we went to the inner city near this location called the Terminal, I was mentally and spiritually out of sorts. The night before

Testing, testing...is this thing on?

“My friend, I am going to tell you the story of my life, as you wish; and if it were only the story of my life I think I would not tell it; for what is one man that he should make much of his winters, even when they bend him like a heavy snow? So many other men have lived and shall live that story, to be grass upon the hills.”

So perhaps it has been awhile since I have taken to the pen and page, or in this

Mysterious Ways

by grace86 on 07-17-2009 at 01:39 PM
I have a confession to make so please be understanding.

Yesterday afternoon as I was driving home on the freeway I was talking to God. Coming home from yet another doctor's appointment where I became a pin cushion, I was asking God how in the world He would make things work out. To pay for my vaccinations for this year's Guatemala trip, I had just written a bad check in good faith that He would move on my behalf to provide.

I mean, He has to. The Lord is sending me
