Good idea, fellas.
I've only read The Portable Beat Reader, so I won't comment on novels, but I am open to discussing their poetry, short stories and letters (I really enjoyed Neal Cassady's letters).
where to start? who to read? don't know enough to carve diamonds from trees.
Has anyone read Go?
I haven't read "Go". But I was a Kerouac-maniac in my youth days: I've read 17 novels of him, almost his entire bibliography (!)
Has anybody read Orpheus Emerged by Kerouac?
I haven't, since this novel was discovered and published in 2002, long after I'd stoped reading Kerouac.
I'm stepping out On the Road. Never read it up till now. Glancing at it, I see poetry in prose.
When I first read it (I was 18), I had a map of USA next to me and was tracing the heroes' constant moving... It helped me a lot to travel with them!
Beginner question (sorry!): How can-I invite somebody to join the group?
