Knife. Why did I say nail? (This was actually part of spoken conversation a short while ago)
So. Get this. The redundancy letter arrived today. Kind of redundant in itself since the HR peon who's been dealing with her called her to confirm it yesterday. She has to sign a form and send it back to receive her redundancy pay. First off. Although addressed to her the letter actually begins with "Dear Neil". I know these things are always done with a template but to get the name wrong of the person you're getting rid of, isn't that just a little too evil? She's not exactly bothered by it but I consider it an insult.

Secondly. Is asks that she send back the signed form in the enclosed envelope.....there is no envelope. She's had to go out and buy envelopes to post it back, meaning she'll have to pay for postage too (I'm assuming that the enclosed envelope would've been a freepost one, they usually are). As if the name thing wasn't twisting the knife enough we have this too. What a cheap company.

In other news. Yuki's in for spaying. We've had to starve her since 8pm last night and......um.......is there a water equivalent for starving? If you don't eat you starve, if you don't drink you.....die...dehydrate? Not that extreme. Anyway, she's not been allowed water since 12am this morning. Technically we made her drink at 12:06 because she came back from her walk and wouldn't drink right away. I had to push her out the door to her bowl and then she had a drink. Then we took the bowl away.

Yui's usually so keen to go to the vet. She always tries to go in at night. Last time we went for her second vaccination the vet didn't get a good placement and she yelped when he put the needle in but she was fine. Mum tells me that she had to drag Yui in this time. I wonder if she remembers that injection or whether she could feel the bad vibes coming from mum. She must've known something was wrong. We should be able to collect her at 3 assuming the vet didn't have any difficult or emergency cases to deal with. I hope he gave her a drink, or at least put her on an IV.....but if he did that wouldn't he have had to shave her leg? No. Yui has such lovely fur. But it'll grow back so it's okay.

It's a necessary evil. She's not a breeding dog. She's a pet. Besides, she keeps having phantom pregnancies. Also, we won't need to worry about her being soiled by any old mongrel. If you don't spay a dog you don't intend to breed they can have problems there, or so I'm told. Best to spay now while she's young and healthy. It's a routine operation right? There can be complications with routine operations but generally they're fine right? She's such a good doggy.

On a similar note. An old (and kind of former) friend of mine (she lives or lived two doors down from me) has a 2 month old baby boy. I took Yui out for a short walk yesterday and we ran into her. The baby was dozing and twitching now and then. He reminded me of when I first met Chi. I wondered how tight his grip was but I didn't want to disturb him. Yui couldn't see the baby but she was keen to sniff both mother and buggy. I think she's aware of what babies smell like so she must've known there was one but she just couldn't see it.

I kind of felt left behind when Hillary had Chi since she's two years younger than me but I can feel nothing but good wishes for this former friend since she's about a year or two older than me. If my senior is ahead of me then that's fine but if my junior is ahead of me it's a kick in the teeth . I kid, it's not such a big deal any more, people move at different paces.
