I quit

today has got to be the worst day I've had in a while. it started off great. The sun was shining, my coffee was great, I got some homework done ahead of time, and it was warm enough to work outside in a cutoff T. I changed the drive belts on my truck, after about two years of putting it off. I had some trouble. Its often hard to distinguish one greasy thing from another. I got it done in around three hours. I got my workout done and blasted my shoulders/arms/abs with an insane workout. I felt awesome. I got in my truck to go to school and got stuck in the mud between the barn and the house. ****. Get out, crawl around in the muck and lock the hubs, slip and slide back to the dry area and off to school I go. I get to school and see that I have a steady stream of antifreeze pouring out the front of my engine. I'm low on gas.
I went to class, not knowing I had three hours of powerpoints and retarded suspension modules to go through, with the hopes I might get out of class early enough to catch Kevvy while he was still in town, but now I thought I might have to stay and work on my truck after class. **** it, I need to give kevin his christmas present before I drink it all. On my way to his house, my belts start sqeaking. I'm still leaking antifreeze like a sonofa*****. I get to his house. We exchange gifts, we chat with his ma a little bit, and he starts packing up. I walk outside to find him pouring vodka on top of the homemade 'shine I made for him. My truck is leaking antifreeze all over his driveway still. I get in my truck to come home, and I can smell my belts burning.
Today, I got the inkling life didn't like me very much. Well, life, the feeling is mutual.
I'm going to get tanked, bury my head in a good book, and go to bed.

Feel better Skib grab a beer or two, kick back, and try to forget it happened. :cheers2: Even if it is only for a night, you'll feel that much better for it. Better question, though, who waters shine down with vodka?? I've mixed it with a bit of cider before but that's about it. Oh well, feel better, and I hope your car troubles come to an end.

    Take Care,
    Meg

    Thanks guys!
I needed that hug Heathcliff! Thanks!

mkhockenberry- He didn't hear me when I told him what was in the flask. It was a complete accident.

qimi- hear hear! Today is starting out just fine!

To all- I think I got it all figured out! I had a beercan stuffed in between my alternator and the mounting bracket, and it fell out somewhere, and I forgot to tighten up one of the belt tensioner bolts that happens to mount right into a coolant jacket. Crossed fingers and hope everything works!

Ah heck Skib. Cars just suck. At least when they break down. Other than family health problems, there is nothing more stressful. Today my car was stuck in the snow/ice in a parking spot in Brooklyn and it took an hour to get out. I was so pissed i didn't take a shovel with me. At least it didn't cost me any money. I'm afraid that's not the case with you. Well, cheer up buddy. It's only a machine.
