Ode to Dickey

(maybe not so much of an ode, but a tribute to the old man I want to emulate when (if) I ever manage to get his age)
Dickey, good sir you never fail
to inspire fear
in the hearts of the maintenance crew
The very fear the sound
your Toyota instills
is in fact
enough to provoke
even an hours worth of hard work.
Your spitter in one hand
and list of chores in the other
Staff have been known
to run for days on end
To not be the one to help
you feed the herd
Dickey, good sir,
you are a kind hearted man
all full of piss and vinegar
hell on wheels
Especially in your Toyota
Dickey good sir,
the day you go
will be the day
the world will miss
one of its most
treasured of men
The love we all feel when
you address a full dining hall
middle fingers raised in greeting
is almost unbearable
The phrase "Good mornin', asshoe'!"
is forever a term of endearment
engraved on my heart
*This is a testament to one of the best men I know- a man who goes by the name Dickey. There are no words to adequately put Mr. Dickey into perspective. He is an experience to behold. Probably the most sarcastic SOB's I know, he is also one of the most kind-hearted men I have ever known. I had the privilege and have the privilege of working with him last and this summer again.
