I just mean by my comment that the singer doesn't just find it sad, but finds it funny and sad.

Tears for Fears wrote 'Mad World' and Gary Jules tortured it. In Donnie Darko the song 'Head over Heels', which I think plays during a school scene, is also by Tears for Fears.

I always liked Gary Jules' version, but thanks for sharing that Tears for Fears wrote it. I watched it on Youtube and I liked it more and Jules' a little less. And the Tears for Fears version I'd seen before... not sure when. I like the guy's dancing outside the window.

I want to see Donnie Darko simply cuz Johnny Depp is in it . The song sounds good - but then I wouldn't expect less from a Depp film .
