Girls should always be weary
of men who talk so airy
for it means by talking such sweet love
they've had much practice laying above.

(I've decided to start writing poetry! Don't know where this came from, was just writing on jonjit's wall that I mistrust men who are so poetic (like himself) ....)

p.s should that be 'lying' or 'laying'?

I like 'laying' whether it's grammatically correct or not. It leaves me with a strangely dual image of a man either b*nking or laying an egg. Either way it's funny.

I see you've been bitten by the jon bug. Uh-oh

I think it's lying, but the poem gains extra meaning when you use it as laying here. If you get my drift. So I would keep it. Well, I would like to see your poetry. It's not hard to start.

I prefer 'laying' too because it gets across what I mean 'laying above' - the sexual act etc. Thank you anyway.

I third that. Laying works here. In my first read my eyes replaced weary with wary (not sure why) but in the second read the word weary gave it a slightly different twist. Looking forward to more!

you should be my poor dog,
"lay down" says Mike, , and I yell, "lie down!" poor dog. what shall he do? He mulls
over which cat with whom he has the most grievousness with.

Lay is what you or anyone does to anyone else. To lie is another story.
