prayers

yesterday was a very beautiful day,
i went to the temple and the ashram,
after taking food i went to the ashram;
chanted for a little while,
read some in the caitanya caritamrta,
and since i'd only had 4 hours sleep,
laid down for a little while before harinam,
and drifted in and out of the deepest peace,
the most blessed dreams,
i cannot even remember it clearly,
but as my breath came in and out,
i drifted across worlds,
it was so blissful.
all glories to the lord!

last night, we had harinam,
we chanted the lord's name,
and sang and walked up and down the streets.
i am surely the least advanced person in our party,
i am the only non-brahman, after all!
even i can see something very promising,
very auspicious.

and this morning, ah this morning!
it was very crisp, just before the sun came up,
it was blue and yellow, after all!
there was a slight mist,
and the birds were making play in the air.
a very sweet morning.
it got me thinking about prayer.
when i breathe in, i feel the prayers
i have received more than i have given,
and i am very fortunate.
and so now i am thinking about prayer,
i am praying for the broken-hearted,
for the sick-of-heart,
for the souls who are in despair,

i pray for an increase in the right channels,
for an opening of the floodgates of truth,
i pray for goodness to flow into all hearts,
and replace the grieved and hurtful egos.

i am praying for those happy, sick in love,
egoless and very great in love,
very healthy and peaceful in love,

i pray that the truth will come down to people,
that people will awaken to our common bonds,
people will open to our common hope and love,
people will awaken to to truth which exists in some portion
in every heart, which, when it is meditate upon,
disbands the bands of karma,
disbands the bands of hate, of ego,
of pain, of pain, of pain.

i pray for truth conscious souls, to arise,
awakened,
to the truth of their being,
i pray for peace for souls united in love,
i pray for the immortal life of our saints and our holy teachers,
i pray for the joyful life of our poets, artists, and aspirators,
i pray most of all for the increase of understanding, intelligence,
the general increase of maturity and wisdom and love,
for shared understanding,
and again most of all for the ever-worshipped truth,
and for god-conscious souls to arise,
awakened,
to the truth of their being,
for the peace of souls united in love.
i pray for the immortal life of all who take shelter of love and truth.

Ohhh, cool. By the way the picture has nothing to do with me it was just one I pulled off of a website. Sometimes I post random pictures for no reason.

While praying I really like the incense smell. It's soothing and makes the whole environment for prayer very good.

I was given some incense from my friend made by devotees in Vrndavan and it is very wonderful. Soothing, but much more than that too.

Vrindavan? There's a place in India, Northern part, called Vrindavan, where Lord Krishna spent his days
