little girls in strollers againing

Rate this Entry
do you remember?
when we milled around this cobbled
street
bricks overlaying grass, trees dying
'round the city
giving their lives to structures
in the suburbs
we stand here today
on the corner of 11th and
market
the cobbles are gone
replaced by pavement
like amnesia over love
in 100 years not
one of our bodies
will remain
though we may return in
new ones
but will we peep out of their shutters
when we stand on this
street corner
in 2105
or will we go back to our
darkened rooms and quiet hearts?
