Give me hope...

My music preferences are eclectic. I sing in a choir at church... when we have church, and love hymns. I wrote/transcribed the tiniest of songs, a tiny hymn, from a poem I wrote and set it to music (from a lucid dream/angellic voices & music which I can not duplicate) using a free music transcription program (MuseScore: years ago. I had to get a little bit of tutoring to understand notes and such (thank you Sr H !!) to be able to understand the tiniest bit of music theory... and I'm totally terrible at it... but somehow I was able to get it down. Sr H was kind enough to add a few versions of her own which I prefer to my 8 or 9 versions. I still can't read music worth beans and my singing voice makes even the cracks weep... it's the spirit that counts

Currently using Binaural-beat style music to get me to focus and rid anxieties... it may not work/help but the music is soothing. I also lean on Enya's arm often and play R.E.M.'s playlist to death; Michael's least favorite song is what I use in my "Good Morning" Alexa routine to wake up with "Shiny Happy People": My "Good Night" Alexa routine turns of the landline-phone/lights and plays Brown noise from Amazon Unlimited Music.

So: Joe Satriani, Eric Clapton, 80's music in general, Gotye, Muse, Cranberries, Hank Williams, Sr. (and all the old country artists), jazz, blues, Led Zepplin, classical, new age, Moby, Adele, new wave...

... and especially Def Leppard.

One of my guilty pleasures is music by The Scorpions. Usually hard-drive guitar and intense vocals that border/tromp on the erotic - they just recently released "Sign of Hope" for these times which is quite a departure from their usual fare:

... off to post cat pictures... (sigh)

Loved "Sign of Hope". I found This Brazilian hit sung in English, a bit earwormy perhaps:

And, tailor, you are under no obligation to post cat pics , at least not here!

... (lol) Oh! Thank you! I've been feeling Her influence as of late.

Loved the song (shared on facebook). Not earwormy to me, very light and uplifting. She sings so fast though; it was hard to catch all the lyrics... the video was very sweet.

My translation attempt (without rhyme and rhythm)

    Bullet train
Itīs not about having all the people of the world to oneself
Itīs about knowing that somewhere someone cares for you
Itīs about being able to listen and hear more than one’s own voice
Itīs about dancing in the rain of life that pours on us

    Itīs about feeling oneself infinite
In a vast and beautiful universe, itīs about being able to dream
And so make worthwhile every verse of that poem
    About believing.

Itīs not about reaching the top of the world and feeling winner
Itīs about climbing and getting tougher on the way,
Itīs about being shelter and also finding shelter in other hearts
And so, have friends in all situations

    One canīt have everything,
What would be the fun of life if one could?
That’s why I prefer the smiles
And the presents life brought me.

Itīs not about all the things money can buy
But about each moment and smile one can share
Neither is it about running against time for more and more riches
Because when one least expects it, time has been left behind.

So, hold your kid on your lap
Smile and hold your parents while they are still here
For life is a bullet train, brother,
And we are only passengers ready to depart!
