Iraq – Mosul

Rugged ground and our horses have aching feet
Rainy clouds and heron bird leaves its nest
Heavy rain and our friends cannot tent
We interred a cave to escape from wet
A trip to unknown we had into serious fate
Our horses were fatigued and our breads became wet.
We put our saddles nearby adjacent closed canal
Someone had dug it before several years
Our condition is bad while we wait incoming news
Soldiers hid their tanks between the high trees
What can we do while the half-moon is disappeared yet?
No one could be blamed and the scene is unfortunate
Men twist their mustaches smiling at calm wait
Our gunpowder yet is not well done and we had to move
Flickering light comes from the valley under our feet
Someone lose his cows and coming to ask
We send to him helper while the night is dark
Our coffee is prepared and we talk into mess
The herder shot three alarming shots
As soon as we hear the sound, we come near
The attacking lion jumped over the river and went
Futile aim and we cannot sleep
The dawn comes out still we don’t sleep
Our emotion was conscientious and had to leap
Our sparkling fire extinguished and we threw it deep
Zero aim of zero obstacles defeats us for slowing keep
Ringing bell of my wristwatch alarms me that it is ten
And we must draw back pace after pace to milestone.
Sky is too cloud and the way is dark
Sudden move we heard as if roaring of a wild cat
We keep silent while some of our men shot
Long way between many highlands we must tread
Meanwhile other men claim not to proceed the way
It is the frank attempt compels us to be alert
However, we run still our way is remote
Sixty miles and we should have rest.
Awhile and for a while, we missed the way
Returned for left and we saw swarm of diving birds
We know that our sandglass is wrong
We return silent and dread cursing our day
Unknown journey and the night comes again
Stretched out its wing and we got fatigue then
Our time is desert and the way is unknown
Our time is driven oar and the sea is deep
Night came again and our journey could halt
Harmonic bell sound is echoing to our ears
Don’t surrender to despair even if darkness
Yet we claim the vector others were dead
Hundred cemeteries were built in our orchard
Their coffin is the wet leaves of cypress trees
Against of our river hundred gallows were built there
Crushing wheat turn black while clouds rain
Our milestone stopped but only to crush stones
Mile after mile we drive yet the way is remote
Spider camped over our dreams and we go to unknown
Mile after mile we return to the first step
Mile after mile we return to the first step
