Saturday in the rain

Finally we get some decent rain. It has been so dry on the ice that in some parts they don't have water! Not my part luckily. But It has been poring down rain all morning and all last night. I love it. I have a small gazebo if sorts, it has big windows on all sides and parts of the ceiling. I love listening to the rain pour down on it.

I got my boy a library card two weeks ago, I have a problem with libraries cause you have to return the books when your done. My son doesn't have that problem so it's great for him. He is taking part in a reading challenge. He has to read a few books all month and he'll get a prize at the end. He was so good at reading last winter but I kinda didn't keep it up during the summer break so he's a bit rusty. But he'll pick it up. We have a system, he reads for me and then I read for him. I am reading Captain Underpants by Dav Pilkey, he loves these books. We are also finishing the Little Prince. I try to mix a bit and have books I find value in between the books about a superhero in his underpants...

There are three birthdays this month, actually 4 but I'm not gonna buy my ex anything. My brother will be 33 and I bought him a Batman T-shirt, my best friend will be 26 in a few days and her daughter will be one on the same day as my ex will be 30. My friend told me that her daughter only has one book!!! How can she be a year old and only have one book. When my son was six months old I had ordered a package with 13 books.

I have realized that I am very impatient when it comes to reading on holiday. During school I have to read all day and many nights but now when I am reading for fun and have my son home and everything I only get 30 minuets here and there. It takes me SO LONG to finish a book. I am 175 pages into Dracula of 324 and I just want to finish, it's exciting and fun to read and I just want to sit down and finish. but I can't. Right now for example I really should be reading when the boy watches cartoons in stead of hanging around on the internet.... then again, I enjoy that too.

Well things go on as they should and soon school will start and things will get back to normal.

I love Captain Underpants 'faster than a speeding waistband' and all the teachers' names 'Miss Anthrope' being my personal favourite. It's a good bit of fun.

I adored reading Captain Underpants to my sons. That picture! And he's the principal of a school, heh. Maybe I should get my principal a copy.

It's good to mix them up. Both books have so much to offer. Enjoy these lazy days. With the return to normalcy comes so much structure, a big yuck in my book.
