Summer days

My son has left pre-school (or kindergarten or whatever it's called out there). He is off 'till August when he starts school, I am very excited about that. We have four days off together now and then he'll go to his dads house for 18 days! he has never been away from me for this long before. We are gonna enjoy these four days and then I'm just gonna work and keep busy while he is away. Then we have a month together on vacation.
We are watching all 'Back to the Future' movies now three nights in a row. We started with I yesterday and he loved it, found it kinda complicated but the DeLorean was sooo cool. he is excited about the next one. It's so much fun watching all this with him.
I am thinking about going to the movies with him but haven't decided yet, maybe tomorrow. there is a movie called Brave in theaters now. I just wanna do something fun while we have the time. His dad is gonna take one of the dogs for a few days too, I got kinda angry but not really angry just surprised the other day when he came over and we were having coffee and he was petting Sisko in the kitchen, the dogs aren't allowed to come into the kitchen. When I saw the dog in there I told him to leave and my ex said 'what I wanted to pet my dog' MY dog he said. When we broke up he wanted the dog and I said OK cause I knew it would be difficult to have two dogs and no car. after a year he gave up and asked me to take him back and I did. Now we agreed that I would have the dog and he would take him to the vet once a year and take him when he could. He has never done that, nothing of it so when he said 'my dog' I just thought to myself why does he have the right to say that. But I'm not gonna make a big deal about this cause we have a good relationship now so I just asked if he had thought about taking the dog with him when he gets the boy and goes up to the countryside to visit his parents for about a week. He agreed to do that and I hope it will work out, cause Spock would enjoy the brake from the bad boy. Spock is almost 11 and he is not Sisko's biggest fan.
My ex also said the other day that he and his girlfriend were wondering if our son has ADHD. I just thought to myself 'you see the kid for about 4 days a month and you think he has ADHD' He does not have it, I told my ex I didn't think so and I am sure the teacher would have noticed if he did but I told him I'd talk to his teacher and see what she thinks. I did and she agreed with me that he doesn't. The boys problem (if you can call it a problem) is that his mind wanders. Sometimes when we are walking down a street he will walk into a sign or something like that. But when it comes to learning he is very far ahead many of his mates when it comes to reading and his teacher especially told me how his focus on details while drawing is great. When he was younger he was the first one in his group to draw a man with arms, legs, eyes, nose, mouth and ears. So just because his mind wanders a bit he does not have ADHD. He is in many ways like me and needs a routine, everything in our routine he does without hesitation so I know I just need to put things like reading a page in his book everyday a part of that routine. He doesn't like reading for his dad and when I realize I forgot (I do that sometimes) he gets annoyed and doesn't want to, but he is only 6 and will start school next fall. I couldn't read when I started school so I think he is ahead in that sense.
Anyway I have babbled on about stuff I don't want to think about anymore so I'm just gonna go mow the lawn or something...
