Old guys rock

This title can be said with ? or !, in my case it's !. I went to a concert the other day, Jethro Tull!! it was so great, Anderson is awesome and his band is really good. It was a whole lot of fun. I told my friend I was going to the concert and she had no idea who they were but asked if it were some old guys cause she thought her boyfriend was gonna go to some old guys rock concert. Oh I don't know how a person can be 26 years old and not at least know of Ian Anderson!

Anyways I was just so happy to be able to go see them and had so much fun, wish I knew the new stuff better though, that is my plan now, check out Thick as a brick 2.

I just came home from work and got my lawnmower out and started working on that annoying grass, it stopped working after about 10 minuets! Oh I hate this garden work, it does nothing but annoy me. I have no idea what to do about it but my grass looks like it got a close shave on one side and nothing on the other...

I'm just gonna go watch Primeval and hope it rains soon

I have to admit I saw your title of the blog topic and the very first words that came to mind were: No We Don't. Refering to myself of course in my well used All About Me phase. On the other hand was impressed Jethro Tull is still around--haven't heard that name in YEARS.

well. it's Ian Anderson and a band that is mainly younger men, but is his material. I just thought it was funny that my friend couldn't remember the name of the band just that they were old.

In my opinion Anderson doesn't look old at all and he jumped up on his 'one leg position' a lot

And here I thought the title of the blog was referring to me! I see mtpspur was thinking along the same lines, only not as conceited.

I love Jethro Tull! "Thick as a Brick" is an excellent song. I think my favorite Tull song is "Locomotive Breath." It's got one of the best introductions in rock. Here:

I don't go to rock concerts any more, but I think if I had the chance I would go to Tull.

    I love Jethro Tull..
Remember Songs from the Wood ?

Let me bring you songs from the wood:
to make you feel much better than you could know.
Dust you down from tip to toe.
Show you how the garden grows.
Hold you steady as you go.
Join the chorus if you can:
it'll make of you an honest man.
Let me bring you love from the field:
poppies red and roses filled with summer rain.
To heal the wound and still the pain
    that threatens again and again
as you drag down every lover's lane.
    Life's long celebration's here.
I'll toast you all in penny cheer.
Let me bring you all things refined:
galliards and lute songs served in chilling ale.
    Greetings well met fellow, hail!
I am the wind to fill your sail.
I am the cross to take your nail:
A singer of these ageless times.
With kitchen prose and gutter rhymes.
Songs from the wood make you feel much better.

I love Minstrel in the Gallery. Jethro Tull is a fantastic mixture of rock and classical music and absolutely unique. My kids love him! Please Ian come to Australia!!!!
