Halls of the Dark Muse

I suddenly hear this outburst of noise which sounded almost like a turkey or a chicken, and some scuffling in the front yard, and there are people who have chickens around here so at first I think maybe a chicken had wandered into the yard and one of the cats went after it.

I get up to walk to the front door to find out what was going on and at first all I see was this little dog on the porch and well I know the dog was not the one making the bird like noises, and I can still hear the clucking sound but don't see anything at first. I look all around when finally I catch sight of the bird just out of the corner of my eye just as it was taking flight. Needless to say it was certainly not big enough to be a chicken but I could not get a close enough look to tell just what kind of bird it was. Size and color almost looked like a dove, but I don't think doves make sounds quite like that. I thought it may have been a parrot that escaped or something.

But anyway, so I see this bird take sudden flight while make sounds of clear anger and distress, and no sooner does the bird take off than the dog is soon to follow, as well it appeared as if the dog was chasing the bird.
