I have been given his ring which he had wore since he was in his 30s. I have been wearing this ever since and it is a comfort. Most of my fondest childhood memories were spent fishing with my grand father. I would spent about 10 weeks of the year with him and my nan, from the ages of about 5-15. He taught me a lot about life and I always enjoyed his company. He even took me to Ireland on a fishing holiday twice and to Spain. These were really good times and I shall never forget them.

It is very painful still and hard to think about. I've not slept properly since but I know that he wouldn't like people moping about so I'm trying to pull my socks up and so forth. I am about to take my own kids fishing for the first time, whenever the rains stop, this I am looking forward to, as are they, and I know it is something that he would say is a good thing to do.
