A Lonely Traveller

I like this. Simple, almost elegant, but not quite. The ending is too humorous. I suggest posting this on the poetry forum.

If you omit the last line and reword the piece a bit, does it still sound humorous?


Yesterday a bud,
today a flower,
and what about tomorrow?

Ai!
Let's drink a toast to now
and get drunk!
When tomorrow comes,
A flower of yesterday will remain as beautiful.
