Me in my new bodice

Rate this Entry
I went to a Celtic Fair over the weakened, I haven't been out to one in a long time, and I am so excited that I finally got a bodice. I have been wanting one for a while but whenever I have seen them before, they are usually outrageously expensive and I just haven't seen any that I was that thrilled about, particularly for the price. So today I was just casually looking when this one immediately caught my eye, and it was for a bodice quite reasonably priced so after I tried it on, I knew I just had to get it.

Looks nice. Women can wear anything and it goes. If I were to wear a medivel outfit I would probably get laughed out.

haha, well it depends, I myself am something of a fan of the tunic and kilt look.

Thank you, I thought so, it is also reversable, the otherside is green.

It's beautiful. You look very medieval in it, Mistress Dark Muse!

Very nice! I've always loved the Renaissance fair that comes to town here. The clothes are ridiculously expensive, but I remember longing for one of their gowns.

Yes that is the downside, how expesnive everything is, though the reason for it is becasue in most cases it is all hand made and they are artists of craftsman/women trying to live by thier trade.

I've always understood why the price, but I never did get the money together for a $5,000 gown I wanted. It was so gorgeous, but looking back ... really what was I going to do with it??? My office is casual, but I think a historical gown may have been looked at a bit odd ;)

$5,000? Now to me that is really outrageous. Most the clothes I come acorss are usually more in the $200- around $500 range. I do not think I have come acorss anything quite as outlandish as above $1,000.

$200!! Unless it's a suit, jacket, or coat, I would never spend more than $50 for any piece of clothing.

I have not personally spent quite that much on anything, but that is usually what most clothing items go for around the fairs.

    My bodice was $48

I cannot recall how much my cloak was when I bought it, which was some years ago but I think it was somewhere over $100 but under $200

^Virgil, I've spent 300 pound on a (SEMI!) custom corset... I've seen really nice ones go for up to a grand.

Sounds like you got a good deal D-M.

Becca, but why? I guess it must be worth it to you, but I can't see spending money on clothing like that. It must mean a lot to you. Ok, I guess we each have our fancies.

Yeah it was quite a find as most the bodices I saw, which I did not think looked as nice went from between $200-$300

No. I never check on what my wife spends on clothes. Actually just today she said she found two tops on super sale for $4 each at Pennys. Surprising. She must be setting me up for some big purchase coming up...
