  1. For one volume manga, I'd recommend:
Onwards Towards Our Noble Deaths, a semi-autobiographical manga based upon the author's experiences inn WW2.

A Drifting Life, a manga by Yoshihiro Tatsumi, who is famous for starting a movement in the 1950's through the 1970's called Gekiga. Its recalls his childhood in post WW2 japan and his early years in the business.

Ode to Kirihito, one of the Adult works by the founder of Manga and creator of Astro Boy, Osamu Tezuka. His made many adults works and his grand masterpiece was Phoenix, a 12 volume series he never go to finish.
  2. Hi, I don't read any no. I've flicked through a few and took some students to a local manga award ceremony before, but I've not read any myself. I know there are a few fans of them on here though. What are some of the best manga books out there, if you had to name say three or four? If that's possible to do.
  3. Do you have an interest in literary comics and manga?
  4. My fellow students at my high school weren't saints, but I knew few people like the disruptive students you've encountered. We did have our hooligans, but usually the students were good kids. Our vice principal was a woman who didn't tolerant nonsense though.
  5. GCSE English mainly. I focus on intervention work, removing students from class to give them extra support etc.
  6. What do you teach exactly?
  7. Shoot, if it is regarding education pop it in the Chalk thread if you want so others can share thoughts as well.
  8. Wanna have a conversation?
  9. Thanks. I've just read up on Kolyma tales and it sounds fascinating. I'll check that out when I've finished reading the stuff I'm on at the moment - The Idiot and so forth.

    Thanks again.
  10. You gonna have to google how to get a invite code for demonoid. Btw, I recommend getting kolyma tales off filestube. Its a fictional account of the author's experiences in the gulag. His short stories are like chekhov's, they're narrated in a neutral tone.
